A Letter from Your Union Steward
Welcome, This site has been started in hopes that a true line of communications can be made between all Teamsters that deal with Coca-Cola Enterprises. July of 2001, the Herb Group was acquired by CCE. I am one of six union stewards and alternates of the Indianapolis plant and I am very concerned with the future of all the plants that were part of the old Herb Group. In less than a year, 1 plant has decertified and several are converted or in the process of conversion to presale system. I feel that if more plants gave each other information on what is going on, then each plant can prepare for what ever CCE puts before them. That can be from contract negotiations to how some stewards have had problems resolved. This is a new day and age for all our brothers and sisters. The age of computers is to be used to our advantage. The tools are here, so lets put them to use and spread the word or should I say spread the web site, to everyone that is a member of organized labor. Please help build a chain of solidarity through out the CCE organizations that are union. The future is ours to take and lead for the next generation to be stronger for when we leave it and know that the ground work has been laid for them to run with it. Let us remember that this website in no way replaces monthly meetings. Attending monthly meetings are a vital part of information. As our International President, James P. Hoffa, has stated a theme of the future "A Strong Legacy, a Powerful Future" for everyday we continue a legacy and turn it into a powerful future with Unity, Leadership, Knowlegde.
