I recently moved to Nevada to live with my family. I'm a smoker, and my parents aren't, so I have to smoke outside. I usually go out and sit on the front steps.
To understand this, here's a basic description of how our house and land are set up. The house is one of those pre-made deals. Basically, it's a rectangle, and the front door is on one of the long sides. Now, off to the right side of the house, when you are looking off of the front steps, there is a wide strip of land. There's a path that runs thru it, and there's nothing else to it except for some grass and some bushes. It's down hill from my house, and it's a ways across it to the other houses a street over. It's supposed to be a horse trail, although horses don't use it very often really.
Now, I was outside one night over a week ago, sitting on the front steps smoking a cigarette. All of a sudden, the whole area next to my house lit up with a sort of foggy white light. It only lasted a few seconds, and I haven't seen it since. Now, many people will say that it's probably just headlights. I don't think so. For one, there are no roads that directly face in this direction, they run along it, but don't face it. For another, I have a really good view of most of the town that I live in, and I didn't see any cars.
For another thing, Nevada is VERY dry. I
doubt it very much that we would have fog,
especially in the middle of the night. I
have yet to see any at all since I moved
here, and it sure hasn't rained.
