"My name is Dyfan Jones and I am the Plaid Cymru Assembly candidate for the Gower constituency, where I reside. I am also currently the President of the students Union at Swansea University - the first Plaid Cymru member to be elected as President of the Student Union at Swansea since 1973/74.
Although young, I am not lacking in political experience. On a European level, trips to Dublin and Brussels have widened my political scope and at a local level, co-ordinating student participation in campaign in South Wales has meant working with numerous and various people. I am also the Vice-Chair of the Federation of Plaid Cymru Students and a representative on the National Council.
Although my family's roots are in Ceredigion, I was born in Holland and raised in Cambridge, yet I have always had close ties with the Party. Indeed, my great Uncle Griffith John Williams was a close friend of Saunders Lewis and a founding member of Plaid Cymru.
I believe that the Assembly will provide tremendous opportunities for Wales and for Plaid Cymru itself. I am confident that the strong and resurgent Gower constiuency branch will provide the support and structure to increase Plaid Cymru's vote, not only in Gower but in the whole of South Wales West."
