So, The Guernsey Model Club gets another Ready 2. Soon it'll be the Guernsey Ready Club.
But this is a Ready 2 with a difference. This must be the shortest living one in history...itn only lasted a couple of flights. If you check out the pictures, you will see that when flown onto the rocks there is not much left worth repairing afterwards.
Stephen always said that it was his ambition to make it fit into his flight box, and as you can see, he pretty much succeded in making it fit. Then he decided to see if he could make a Ready 2/flight box combo that he could fly and, well, I dont think that would work, what do you lot think. Anwers on an E-mail to the usual address.
Another interesting thing with Ready's...if you ever happen to crash one and can't be bothered to take the remains back home, you could always run to the nearest Island Wide, buy a few sausages, and make a barbeque where the plane landed. As you can see, they do burn very well, especially when you take a Firework standard blow torch to the wingtip. Not really surprising since it is made of plastic and foam.
Some of the best burning Action shots I have ever taken. (Infact, pretty much the only fire action shots I have ever taken). Unfortunately, I was downwind when a gust of wind blew, and I disappeared into a thick black acrid cloud of smoke! YUK! The smell was terrible, really strong and acrid. I nearly passed out. Honestly, the lenghts I go to in the name of light entertainiment. Not that there is anything entertaining about crashing a model plane. Most of the time.
This one used to be powered by an OS40 LA, yes one those cheap OS's (Yes, OS do make cheap engines. They also make very expensive engines). I cant really tell you what it flew like. A, because it never really got a chance, and B, it was a Ready 2, just like all the other Ready 2's.
So, another one bites the dust. It will be remembered fondly as Stepehen Maugers first plane, but hopefuly not his last.
