This is Tim's second plane and has now been in the air! And, I'm pleased to report that it flies fairly well. Oh, OK then, its bloody great fun, especially when he asked me to test-fly it. It is such a step up from his challenger that he has alredy tried his hand at basic aerobatics (looping, rolling, flying inverted, and givung the wrong elevator command when inverted!). It has an MDS 40 in the front and was almost ready to fly. Tim calls it "The Tim and Lathe special". I wonder why? One feature of this compared to other ARTF's is that it is built almost entirely of plastic. But it has the reputation of bring a very strong airframe (just sort that front wheel out)
And here she is flying, even if it does look like something from the X-files in this shot. But, joking aside, it flies very well and it is a joy to fly. Now all you have to do Tim is concentrate on getting those landings spot on every time.
Well, after much flying (and attempted flying) I can report that it is indeed a very strong aeroplane. By strong I mean being able to fly into a telegraph pole and survive. Someone else tried this 24 hours later with a more conventional airframe and, yes, you guessed it, there was not much left. A testimony to the strength of the Ready 2.
