Pat Vaudins Leaving Party.

So, after all these years, Pat Vaudin has moved away from Guernsey to live in Devon. His leaving party was held on the Friday before he left at the Pony Inn. This was the chosen venue as they put on a really good Bar meal at very reasonable prices. Just look at all those empty plates!

Below: The man himself - Patrick Vaudin.

On the right, the organiser of the party and the new club president...Nick "I don't do peas" Vining. On the left, his dad Charlie.

Here are those 2 again, this time with Pat and Thomas David.

This time I am now in the picture and Charlie seems to have fallen asleep. Food has that effect on some people...apparently...but don't quote me on that.

Here is Tim Prevel at the bar, getting another pint of Guinness. Being a few days before St. Patricks day (coincidence?) there was a Guinness promotion on which was drink 5 pints get a hat, drink 10 pints get a violin. Tim got both. Enough said.

Is that red-eye a camera effect or a Guinness effect? You Decide!

There's that hat, cool or what? Pat just looks like he's enjoying himself, while Nick looks like he is trying to say "I don't know this man behind me, Really!"

Here is Peter Carre, ignoring the camera (can't think why) while he plays with his fag and holds his drink. Still, he seemed to enjoy the party.

Wad ho Pete, you noticed us now then...no need to look quite so worried. Nothin's gonna happen to you.

Below: On the right we have Shane Browning, the new club secretary, on the left, somebody trying to hide themself behind their drink, and doing a fairly good job as it happens.

I think it might be past Trevor's bedtime but he still manages to wake up before the end of the party, although photographic evidence of this has mysteriously disappeared. maybe it was stolen by a spy trying to infiltrate our party (we never did see Simon Lovell that night!?!).

And here we have a ciggy, with a backdrop of Les lePrevost (trying to wake Trevor up, no doubt). He also had good time as you can see in our last photo at the bottom of the page.

Les tells me that he had had a few pints when this photo was taken...no kidding. What kind of behavior do you call this when there are innocent-minded kids like Thomas about. Still, It sums up the evening rather well, I think. It was a night when we all let our hair down, so to speak, to wish Pat farewell and good luck in his new start in England. We will all miss him but it'd be impossible not to, he's been around for so long. Bye Pat.
