What is the conspiracy? It's very similar to the one I hinted at in The Pheasant is Watching. It at least involves a similar goal: conformism. Yes, that's what it's all about. Breaking us, then molding us into model students, while resticting access to everything promoting free thought, and eventually destroying any desire for it.

The main parties involved are Mr. Zenz, Mr. Jokela, and Mr. Hintz. Mr. Zenz breaks us, Mr. Hintz puts up ridiculous blocks on sites that might promote individuality, in addition to planting surveilance cameras all across the school and building any little brainwashing gadgets Mr. Jokela might need. For Mr. Jokela is the man behind it all. An obvious communist with CIA ties, nothing can take place in this town without his knowledge and influence. He's the one that brainwashes us and molds us into the model students.

What exactly is a model student? Well, we have several good examples. Megan, Gina, Sarah, Val, almost that entire group and their 4.0's that they could probably pull without much effort, yet they study constantly, for fear they'll fail. They're perky, popular, and just generally perfect. By graduation we'll all be. Or we'll be outcasts. Like me and Martine, for example...
