bar

Mercades Lackey

Books by Mercades Lackey
The Serpent's Shadow - Fresh. Interesting. Not her usual work. I like it.
Exile's Valor
Take a Theif

bar

Jo Richardson (Editor)

Aromatherapy: using essential oils to revitalize mind, body, and spirit - came with some more oils, in addition to the ones that I've purchased. I'm liking this stuff, although this book isn't quite up to the other's standard. But it's what B&N had.

bar

Patrick Quillin, Ph.D. RD

The Reading Room
Amish Folk Medicine: Home remedies using foods, herbs and vitamins - I'm going to have to buy it and try it. Not necessarily in that order.

bar

Pamela Grim, M.D.

Just Here Trying To Save a Few Lives: Talkes of life and death from the ER - Wow.

bar

Terry Goodkind:

Prophets Inc. - Terry Goodkind's Official Site
Naked Empire - Not bad. It's good to still be able to come up with something new after this many Bible size volumes. I must admit, though, I'm starting to be ready for a conclusion. Maybe next time.
Sword of Truth vol 1-6 - I'm wearing out my copies of these books. But of course I had to read them again after the new one came out!

bar

Glenda Taylor

Enata
Aromatherapy: for relaxation, beauty, and good health - Fascinating. I bought some essential oils so I could try it out.

bar

Peggy Vincent

babycatcher.net
Baby Catcher - A whole book of stories about babies being born! I laughed and cried both with the tales from her life.

bar

Billie Letts

On Billie by Billie
Where the Heart Is - I couldn't put it down!

bar

Harry Kemelman

Wednesday the Rabbi Got Wet - a so-so telling of a so-so mystery. Even the copious info about Judaisim was hard to follow.

bar

Rebecca Hagan Lee

R. H. Lee
Ever a Princess - Not too bad, for a romance novel. I may try another one of hers. It helped that it was historical fiction as well as a romance.

bar

Orson Scott Card

Hatrack River
Characters & Viewpoint - Whew! This one's dry, but it made me think more about the Craft of writing than anything else I've read to date. Once again, I think I'm gonna have to buy it.

bar

Arch Whitehouse

Heroic Pigeons - This was an interesting read, actually out of the children's section at the library. It tells of the heroic deeds of pigeons in war - they served up until WWII!

bar

Marion Zimmer Bradley, 1930 - 1999

Marion Zimmer Bradley Literary Works Trust
Exile's Song - Wish I'd know about this story the first time I read her books! Knowing what had happened cleard lots of things up in the next book... I devoured the whole thing - 556 pages - in a day.
The Shadow Matrix - I was hooked last time, but it's so much better when you know ALL of what's going on from reading the book before! Not being done with Darkover after one day, I took the next and raced through this one!

bar

Alice Walker

The Color Purple - I still haven't figured out what the color purple has to do with anything, after reading it and watching it, but it's a good story. Very intense, very thought-provoking.

bar

Marion Zimmer Bradley, 1930 - 1999

Marion Zimmer Bradley Literary Works Trust
Traitor's Sun - It still amazes me that it took me so long to discover these Darkover books!

bar

Orson Scott Card

Hatrack River
How to Write Science Fiction and Fantasy - This has some good information in it. I think I'll have to buy it sometime.
Ender's Game - Pleasant afternoon's story.
Ender' Shaddow - Unexpected! I've read several of the other Ender books, but I really liked the second viewpoint.

bar

Stephen Hawking

Stephen Hawking's webpage
A Brief History of Time - This book was fascinating. It's non-fiction, but still managed to keep me up late. He explains various theories about the beginning of the universe and black holes, among other interesting things, in an understandable way.

bar

Robin Hobb

Robin Hobb's Home Website
Mad Ship - 2nd of a trilogy - I like it better as a starting point. This story appeals to me more than the first book.
Ship of Destiny - Excellent ending to a riviting story. My only complaint is that I'm not aware of any sequel!

bar

Jean Auel

Shelters of Stone - Although I bought the book, I threw it away. It had a passable story, but was marred by excessive description of the landscape and pornographic passages. I will probably not read anything else of hers.

bar

Kate Forsyth

Official Kate Forsyth Site
The Witches of Eileanan
The Pool of Two Moons
The Cursed Towers
The Forbidden Land
The Skull of the World

bar

Michael A. Stackpole

Stormwolf.com
Fortress Draconis - This was a real page turner. Stackpole has some great ideas here, and as always is a pleasure to read.

bar

J.K. Rowling

Scholastic's Harry Potter Site
Scholastic's J.K. Rowling information
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

bar

Church Educational System

LDS.org - Institutes
The Life and Teachings of Jesus & His Apostles - I have REALLY learned alot from this book. And I've only finished the half dealing with the 4 Gospels!

bar

Terry Goodkind:

Prophets Inc. - Terry Goodkind's Official Site
Wizard's First Rule - Good enough to read again. And again. And again. Matter of fact, most of the series is.
Stone of Tears
Blood of the Fold
- My least favorite from the series, but still worth the effort to read as part of the overall story.
Temple of the Winds
Soul of the Fire
Faith of the Fallen
- Exellent story, just a little bit preachy.
