Julie's Place in the Sun

What you'll find here:

Hi and thanks for visiting. This is my first attempt at making a Web page, and I'm using the quick and dirty method to get it up here (for the most part). Although this is my place on the Web, my real place in the sun would be somewhere along the Amalfi Coast in Italy. That would be my vacation house of course (think of Frances Mayes and her Bramasole as described in Under a Tuscan Sun and Bella Tuscany), as my real dream house is on a farm in the foothills of Virginia raising sheep.

The picture at the top is me enjoying a fine, but cold, Thanksgiving weekend (2001) at Richard Rogers' High Lonesome SDT in Luray, VA. Boy managed to DQ both days for gripping, although I won't complain about Friday's grip as he was butted and rolled by one cranky ewe. Willow (the tri in front) won the novice class on Friday and came in third on Saturday--that little rescue dog does me proud! My newest dog Twist (pictured below) was born that same weekend.

Eventually you should be able to find all sorts of things about me and my family (human and critter alike) on this site. It will be a work in progress, but I won't bother with the "under construction" tag. You can just assume that I will be updating as often as I can.

For now everything will be right here, but in time there will be separate sections dedicated to all the things I listed above.

And because I know that most folks would rather look at pictures than read, here are some photos of my dogs.

Farleigh's all wet!

Twist is posing at Buckroe Beach in Hampton, VA. She is about 10 weeks old here.

We spent an afternoon at Sandbridge Beach (just south of Virginia Beach) on a Saturday in February. It's good time of the year to avoid tourists, even if the water is a bit cold! That's Twist showing her back side. From left to right are Farleigh, Boy, Indy, Logan (the only one that isn't mine), and Willow. I am showing them how to juggle in preparation for our debut with Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus.....
