On July 19, Ross took Six Gaston College students to Folly Beach, SC, to teach them the basic principles of surfing. The group consisted of 4 men and two ladies. During this weekend trip the students learned the basic structure of a surfboard, the basic principles of standing up on a surfboard, and how to maintain balance. During this trip the students also put into practice the three team principles that Ross heavily teaches on, and became very succsesful during the trip. Not only did everyone work as a team, but there were no conflict between the group. Through it all the students accomplished more than just getting up on a surfboard, they managed to make new friendships and even some leaders emerged out of the group. The group stayed at the James County Island Campground located in Charleston SC. Each day was filled with excitement not only from the trips to the beach but also within the camp itself. Each Student contributed to the cooking duties and the cleaning duties. It was a different meal every night, and let me tell ya it was ummmm ummmm good. Well, I would tell you what we had but you will just have to come inside to see for yourself. Besides you might want to become part of the next group that takes this trip. Come inside and see our world as we made it.
