Sociology 215, Small Group Processing, is a course taught at Gaston college in Dallas, NC. This course is Taught by Mr. Roswell Blount (Ross). This Course introduces group processes and dynamics. Emphasis is placed on small group experiences, roles and relationships within groups, communication, cooperation and conflict resolution, and managing diversity within and among groups. This class is based on The Three team principles which are as follows. 1). Airplane— Bumping it back on track (90% of the time a airplane gets off course.) In the class room if there is anything that needs to be bumped back on track then we do it before the class is dismissed. 2). Ping Pong Balls — Is there any conflicts that need to be resolved before the class is over? (To resolve our conflicts, we use the Emotional Negotiator. Emotional Negotiator A) I feel/I think ____________ __________________________ When You __________________ And I would Prefer ___________ ___________________________ B) Repeat (Don’t say but) 3). Cow — Reaping what you sow (if everyone in the class participates as a team and gives their most divided attention to Ross, the class will get what we call the feeding of the cow point, which is a free answer to a question on the next test. This Course has been approved to satisfy the NC Comprehensive Articulation Agreement for transferability as a pre-major and/or elective course requirement. In this course we observed groups in different areas of life and observed their actions within their small groups.
