Google Yourself
Now Playing: T-Rex theme song

I googled "thweatted" and check out the video results. Of course a lot of Sonic and Mario show up in the image search as well as a couple of things I didn't draw and some links I once posted in a journal entry. Mostly fan art though. I just thought it funny that the Sonic animated gif showed up as a video.

I also found some blogs featuring artists pictures. One site took a panel from the "Fatty" comic strip and posted it in the banner. One person used another fan art as a twitter icon.

Sonic Heroes Contest on VHS tape
Now Playing: Brooklyn Rage
Topic: fandom

I found a VHS tape labeled "I dunno" so I've been going through it. I found a couple of keepers, A PPG Xmas movie, the Batman Xmas Ep, a newer PPG ep, and then misc clips and commercials. Within a recording of TMNT there is a commercial promo for a Sonic X sweepstakes. I'd like to upload my findings to youtube, but you know how that goes. I just hate how photobucket videos freeze up on my comp. The end part is from another commercial break. I put it up as an example.

Now Playing: 1 2 Step
Topic: NiGHTS

I'll let you know how this turns out.

Automatic - Supersonic - Hypnotic - Funky Fresh

I ripped the page right over her. Oops.

But why does Claris need to 2 step? I'll let you know about that later too.

Aaah-OOOOOOOOOoooooooo

I know I said I wouldn't get one of those ulgy jointed Sonic toys, but now they have smaller cheaper ones. 3 new Sonic Toys are out and I got two of them, 3 inch Sonic and Tails and a black Knight Sonic w/sword 'n' metal glove. I debated these toys for a couple of days, not very well. I just hate to pay money for something small, but then, I spent more than 4.99 on a Hardees combo meal earlier this week and then spent six on the Girls Scouts right afterwards. Then there are the Mario toys for the same price that are even smaller and don't even move. Then there are other toys around the same size that costs even more. Even a ninja turtle is 4 inches and are currently eleven bucks a piece. From a toy POV it's not a bad price, 2 minifigs for the price of one werehog. (I like how I use the werehog as a unit of measurement.) It's just that it looks like a happy meal toy, and a happy meal is only about 3.50.

Tails and Sonic appear to be the same height in spite of the fact that Sonic should be taller. I only wish they had a Knuckles sold separately, but I dunno if they will or not if they're already selling him in the comic package with that stupid translucent Sonic and a comic book I've never read and never plan to.

Dance, Magic! Dance!
Now Playing: One Thing Leads To Another
Topic: animation

Today I did the last two character animations on this Rokugo rap, Metal's animation above (which was a last minute sketch and change from what I was planning but it's better anyways), AND I finally animated the ending can-can. I was dreading it, I just didn't feel like doing it, putting it off for a long time, both parts really, and I did it all today. The can-can is slower and less jerky than I imagined it would be, and they aren't grabbing each other's shoulders like I wanted (didn't feel like doing the extra work) but it still looks nice. The background will change 3 more times during the can-can. What will it be? Singing nun puppets? Deep sea creatures? The PPG heart? That's a surprise.

I think the real question is, why are they doing the can-can? Because that's how it was in my head, that's why!

So, here, watch the youtube upload. All parts of the rap and an unnecessary title sequence.

Why don't they do what they say, say what they mean...

My butt hurts from sitting so long.

NiD.com
Now Playing: Mario Sonic Olympic Winter Games Commercial
Topic: NiGHTS

Reala Radio and Burning Down Twin Seeds have been added to the NiD.com site, which reminds me, I haven't been to the forums in a while and I want to draw Reala as a Drum Major. I like the new site layout. "It's clean, clear, AND under control."

I finally found this commercial on-line. Aren't those great costumes? Go watch the original Smash Bros commercial and you'll see what I mean.

Mario vs Sonic would've been huge...15 years ago...

Part 2
Now Playing: I Want You (slowed down)
Topic: animation

This is the second part to the Robotnik video. I was filming for 50 minutes total. Yes, it's a slow process for me, but at least I'm animating. One thing I dislike in retrospect is that the most animated part (his hands) I drew before I started filming and the rest is basically drawing him and sliding things around. I wish I had shown myself draw some keys. At least at the end of the clip it shows the animation thus far.

I wonder if the audio sounds weird to anyone else. I'm so used to hearing the song this way it's nothing new.

A Flint holds fire
Now Playing: Good Days and Bad Days
Topic: animation
If I worked on this animation like I'm supposed to, I'd been finished by now. I made these color keys for both of them. Normally I'd just get the color from a previous picture I'd done, but because they're all symbols, I figured this was more efficient. The last time I did color keys was for a school animation back in 2004. The irony in that is that I accidently made a man's hair the wrong color brown for one frame. I see how I could make such a mistake in a rush. Let's just hope I don't make Robotnik's mustache the wrong dark red. Thankfully, it's an easy fix if I do.
I may have to change those spikes. I'm not sure if it's important enough to require a change.

Sonic goes to Juvi
Now Playing: Bad Habits
Topic: fandom

Guess what I found, more new Sonic toys, and so soon too. They are the latest trend of simplistic vinyl style toys, like the Metal Sonic Con figure I'm glad I didn't waste money on esp. since I have a much better metal action figure. See, I just had to wait it out. They are 10 dollars a piece, so I didn't get any. They are way too small and silly looking for that price. Granted, I bought a Luigi figure for that price, but it actually looks like Luigi & the werehog looks like the werehog, and Metal Sonic looks like Metal Sonic, and the Ninja Turtles look like Ninja Turtles. Do you see where I'm going with this? As bad as I want a Knuckles toy, I'd rather wait for them to make a Knuckles that looks like Knuckles (and isn't 3 inches tall and packaged with other crap). I imagined myself sitting at my computer with the thing on display thinking, "I spent 10 bucks on that???" That's grocery money. Change it to five bucks and we've got a deal. But this is Toys R us, and that is not happening. I've waited a year for them to clearance out the Batgirl Barbie and it is STILL 42.99. Madness

One last thing. The Mario/Sonic olympics commercial is out. It involves people in Mario and Sonic costumes, so you know it's hilarious. It's even got rings in it. I'm surprised I can't find it on-line yet.

This is the highest cost...

Robotnik and Metal
Now Playing: Rokugo's Rap
Topic: animation
To save on uploading flash files to my account and not doing preloaders, I decided to post this progress as a video. Here you can see I've done close to nothing so far, but check back for updates. Also, I know Metal has no mouth, but I gave him one anyway in the sketches for the sake of having a face with more expression. I also did that with some older skethces at the site.

Robotnik and Metal are in the Death Egg and reacting to Sonic and friends that appear on the monitor, which is why they're turned around. Of course the lyrics have nothing to do with the actions, but the actions fit the tone.

Tin Man
Now Playing: If I only had a heart
Topic: fandom

SO, let's see. Well, he makes a squeaky clicky sound when you pose him. He stands really well (unlike the WEREHOG). You'll notice the smell when you open the package. My personal issue is that his left elbow doesn't want to budge. I don't wanna break the thing but it will not bend for me.
This is acutally kind of good for me as a model because I had sketched a lot of Metal Sonics for the animation and now I have a full body 360 degree reference. Do not inhale close to Metal, because, whew. I guess he had a fresh paint job, but he could use some oil. Hmmm...I hope that's not lead paint....

WAIT WAIT WAIT...I just got his arm to bend. Nice.

Metal Sonic at long last
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: Mr Roboto
Topic: fandom

When I saw this thing on the bottom of the shelf I thought "Holy sh**!" Do you know my main reason for going to Toys R Us was to some day find a Metal Sonic (which turned out to be all Mighty Mugg style, which turned out to be available on line only). Well, it turns out there's a newer better Metal action figure. Kinda pricey but still under 20 bucks. He's about 2 werehogs high. Let's open this bad boy up, shall we?
