Compare me not on the lone praire
Now Playing: Chilly Down
Topic: animation

Get me, another comparison video. Just wanted to show off the next part. This shot is the most complex so far, as things are behind Reala and one by one they pop up and sing a line and then pop out. I haven't done any of that part yet, nor am I looking forward to it.

Claris in the Dark Woods
Now Playing: Dr. Doolittle Remake
Topic: animation

I'm sure I've mentioned the song Chilly Down in terms of animating it. I've made an attempt in the past. And now here's another attempt, a sketchy one. I have a mandatory week off of work, and now is the time to go for it. Dale!

4-fingered Robotnik
Topic: animation

Based on Bugs Bunny’s dance in a Looney Tunes short who’s title escapes me, and a few thereafter. I noticed that the dance switches the pattern up a little in the legs. I only did 1 round so copying and pasting doesn't make the arms match up.

Another Music Mashup
Now Playing: Do the Bartman/Yoshi's Island
Topic: music
I reformatted my computer some weeks ago and now I can't figure out what happened to all my glorious fonts, oh yeah, and I discovered a midi I'd started just for fun combining elements of Yoshi's Island and the Bartman, and I thought after that last video, I may as well try it with the real audio. Luckily for me, when I sped up Yoshi's Island I didn't need to change the pitch. It was already in the right key. Premiere is not ideal for music editing. Sometimes beats are just one small fraction of a second off, but I can't edit it because the program isn't that precise.

Updated the Wrong Site
Now Playing: Escape from the City
Topic: animation

I was planning for my next sketch animation to be something original. I had the audio clip ready and everything, but somehow I ended up doing this with audio from the SMB movie. The Boo was added to the 2nd to last shot as an extra background thing, but after putting it there I decided I should bring it back in the final

If I can edit out a very short clip from "Escape from the City" you might get to see Sonic and his animal band from that old unsued artwork perform a portion of it. "Follow my rainbow" is such a hilarious line.

Music Mashup
Now Playing: Toxic Caves
Topic: music

I went through youtube listening to Sonic Generations tracks. Good stuff, no real complaints. When I heard Toxic Caves again I remembered that I like that song for the same reasons I like New Junk City, and so I put both tracks in Premiere Elements (since I have no audio software) and synced them up with each other, which was not easy. First I had to get the pitches the same. Toxic Caves was a lower quality mp3, so that's the one I messed with. The hard part was getting the speed right. Whenever I made an adjustment I had to wait for it to render. Then, even if the audio speed was correct, it would always get out of sync. I eventually found out that if I take the edited audio track and split the clip numerous times that's the only way it will stay the correct speed. I really hate this program sometimes.

Anyhoo, of course these songs sound less alike when you put them together or hear them back to back, but I managed to get a few decent sounding parts out of it. Now it's embedded on the Music page of the website.

Burning Down Twin Seeds 2011

And in another 3 years I should be able to kick it up a notch with part 3...that is, if I still care about this stuff in another 3 years. Tom Jones's big voice amuses me so.

Burning Down Twin Seeds Continued
Now Playing: Burning Down the House
Topic: animation

Finally, NiGHTS gets animated again. I'm hoping that I can animate to the entire audio clip. Then I'll post that version to my account. This version's unlisted because I don't want it to steal the thunder from a possible longer version, but I still wanna show it off.

For Sale
Topic: merchandise

Since these 20th anniversary classic figures came out some of my previous Sonic figures have lost their personal value.

I've been thinking about selling some of them for a while now. I got an ebay account but I hate the way they make you pay for every little thing, even if it is a few cents. So I'm thinking I might add a for sale page to my website. Sometimes I don't want to sell them but what am I doing with them right now, nothing. I also have a couple of photos I need to add.

I'm all about the "big" toys. I bought the 3 inch Sonic and Tails because I had no Sonic or Tails at the time and 3 inch Knuckles and Shadow vehics because I had no Knuckles or Shadow. I got Robotnik and Metal because I had no Robotnik. Since then I have acquired the 10 inch Sonic and the Knuckles and Tails superposers and the small classic Robotnik, and even though I have more of the minifigs than anything, it's like why keep the small ones if I have the bigger better ones. Although Robotnik, Vector, and Espio are sort of a tossup because "they" are the only "those" around. I think the bottom line is that I need to be more patient. I have two classic Sonics, the regular and the big one. I think the big classic Sonic trumps almost everything in the whole collection.

Unintentional reflection of the American Flag in the side of the box. I bought one for an animation reference and never got rid of it.

Robotnik Speaks
Now Playing: Rescue Rangers Pilot
Topic: animation

Much like the Reala clip, this was animated in within two days and with the same program. I recently drew a fan art of Fat Cat from Rescue Rangers and I was considering animating Robotnik to part of the song he performs, but instead I thought the audio before the song was nice and short and still would suit him, so thar she blows. They share the same voice actor, at least one of Robotnik's incarnations does anyways.
