Biography
Johnny Torrio moved to New York City when he was two years old. He was still a hard-working teenager when he was 13, working at grocery stores and what-not. But a few years later, he joined the "The Five Points" gang. He only may have been a teenager, but he caught Paul Kelley's eye when he organized a petty theiving with a few friends of his. Paul Kelley took him under his wing, and made him Vice President of the gang.
Years later, Johnny moved to Chicago, to start his own mob. He arrived just in time for the Prohibition Law (which meant you could not drink alchohale). He earned most his money by illeagel gambling and speak-easiesc(illeagel bars). Al Capone moved to Chicago some years later, and Johnny took a shine to him. Johnny taught young Capone everything he knew about the mobster buisiness, and made him second in command of the Torrio Empire.
Eventually, Johnny Torrio was caught for having an illeagel brewery and was fined $5,000.00, and a jail term. Right before Johnny started his jail sentence, he was shot nine times by tommy guns and shot guns in a drive-by. Today still, we are not sure who was responsible for this. Somehow, he survived, and decided to retire from the gangster life. He then gave over his empire to Al Capone, and moved to New York City again, and enjoyed his retirement. He died in April 1957, because of a heart-attack.
