Jeffrey L. Goetz

Jeff Goetz is a 24 year veteran of law enforcement. He started his career on September 1st, 1977, at the early age of 20. Unbeknownst to him, 24 years later, he would regret cherishing his very first law enforcement identification card and the badge that was pinned on his uniform.

Jeff has served in various capacities over the period of his career. He has played the parts in patrol, investigations, juvenile, crime prevention, public information officer, narcotics, undercover, training, dignitary protection, etc.

None of this had prepared him for what was about to happen one month from his anniversary of that 24-year career. On July 26th, 2001 Jeff reached the ultimate sacrifice in the old "to protect and serve" philosophy. He was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, commonly referred to as, PTSD.

Jeff had no idea what was about to happen to him. Nor did he have any idea what had happened to him over those 24 years.

Hopefully this site will help others who suffer from the same occupational disease. As you browse through the site it's possible you will discover the same thing I did. It might be your life story.

Jeff is now enjoying his new career in the educational field.  He is the Lead Faculty of a Criminal Justice program at a Community College in North Carolina.  He also formed his own business, Goetzco Consulting, providing seminars and training in stress and related issues in Criminal Justice, in addition to providing services to major publishing companies.
