Welcome to the beautiful Great Smoky Mts.
of North Carolina. As the Chevy can't go into
the Hills, Valleys and Gorges, we are bringing
them to you! So sit back and enjoy the beauty
of God's Country!

Black Mountain and others.

Tablerock Mountain.

Whiteside Mountain rises to about 5,000 feet.

Near Richland Balsam.

The Blue Ridge Parkway runs along the
Pisgah Ridge passing close to some of the
hightest peaks in the eastern U.S.

Elevation?

Mt. Pisgah.

This bald mountain is 5,749 feet high!

In the Cullasaja (cull-uh-SAY-ja) Gorge you
will find three waterfalls.

Bridal Veil Falls

A very rare example of a waterfall
that can be driven under!

Dry Falls.

Why is it called dry falls? Because you
can walk behind and stay dry!

Cullasaja Falls.

The Falls are 200 to 250 feet from
top to bottom.

Where Hwy. 281 crosses the Horsepasture
river, a trail leads down to where there are
four major falls within a two mile stretch.

Drift Falls.

Turtleback Falls.

Rainbow Falls.

Stairway Falls.

Then we have this!

Careful now!

Now we have Chimney Rock Mountain.

See the chimney?

More Falls.

Glen Falls.

Looking Glass Falls.

Connestee Falls.

Now we get in the Chevy and travel 5,000
feet above Maggie Valley, to the Catalooche Ranch.

Catalooche, the Cherokee term for
"wave upon wave" like a vast sea, the tree covered
smokies roll toward the horizon, the peaks
tinted blue and gray, by haze!

On the trail.
