Thank You for Being My Friend
Through Good Times and Bad
when things are going well
and everyone can have fun together
It is easy to find a friend
when exciting things are happening and
everyone can look forward to them together
It is easy to find a friend
when the environment is attractive
and everyone can be happy together
But the friend that we find
who will be with us
when we are having problems
and our lives are confused
is a hard friend to find

one of those rare people
who is a real friend for life

Thank You For Your Friendship
You Are Always My Friend
You are always my friend
when I am happy or when I am sad
when I am all alone or
when I am with people
You are always my friend
if I see you today or
if I see you a year from now
if I talk to you today or
if I talk to you a year from now
You are always my friend
and though through the years
we will change it
doesn't matter what I do
or it doesn't matter what you do
Throughout our lifetime
you are always my friend

AS I WAIT
I too both hope and fear,
wanting love, a transformative
embrace,
an emergence from the shadow
of my life,
yet trembling at the thought
of meeting hard truths
and sudden disappointments.
Enchanted, yet withdrawn,
I await a sign, a warm,
rather than a cold eye.
Lost Friends
Like any other kind of love, friendship
can be lost within our lives due to
neglect or anger or, sometimes,
simply circumstances. However it is
lost, we often lose a part of ourselves
that can never quite be recovered.
