I called my wife one day from work and told her that there were Mastiff puppies for sale in the paper.  She kind of said uh-huh so, seemingly not sharing my enthusiasm, and hung up. Well the day had gone wrong from the start and only got worse as it progressed. By the time I got home I didn’t want to talk to anyone. My wife however was in a great mood as she told me to go say hello to our daughter Jamie, who was playing in her room. Down the hall I go, hearing my little one squealing with delight. The reason for the noise was apparent as I opened the door and saw the puppy  who would later become Wilbur chewing on her toes. Seeing her with her new best friend rolling around and playing was enough to make me forget the rest of the day. Isn't it odd how kids and dogs can have that kind of effect on you?

I think everyone should have a pet, no matter what it is. I have wanted a Mastiff for many years and finally have one thanks to my wife. Wilbur is an apricot brindle, and at his last check up he was 75 pounds at 7 months old. Hopefully the information contained on these page will help you decide if a Mastiff is right for you.
