Mrs. Rachel Thomas was born in June of 1920 in Granville County. She has lived in Granville County for 82 years and has three daughters, five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Her husband is deceased. She continues to live in Oxford, NC.
Mrs. Thomas was my first interview choice because she’s been through a lot in her life and she is a great storyteller. Mrs. Thomas has been to many countries in her lifetime, including France, Italy, and England. She has never been to Australia.
One-Liner: “The only real thing I remember (about the Great Depression) is that Mother said that I would have to stop taking music lessons., which didn’t bother me a bit.”
