The year 2002 has been a very beautiful year for us. We decided to make a slide show which gives a good tour of our home, both inside and out. When you click on the link, it will take a bit to upload for the first time, but after the introduction screen comes up, click on the middle button on the lower right corner of the screen just above the status bar. It will automatically play as it was developed using the Kodak film software. Just above the bridge in the center of the driveway, which is 250 feet long, I plan to flatten that area above it to set a gazebo. Then have a walkway from the bridge to the gazebo. The walkway will have a double border of Rhodendrums as the outer border and various colored roses as the inner walkway.

We also had some beautiful colors with different flowers on June 10th, June 11th, new blooms, and in the back yard. The dual colored Rose in Orange and yellow is known as the Joseph's Coat. It is a hybrid rose which is understood to last only 5 years then it will have to be replaced as it blooms itslef out. This is our first time planting and trying out the Joseph's Coat to add more color to the Pink Climbing Rose, Red Don Juan climber, and the Yellow Rose.

I returned back from Fort Irwin, California on Mother's Day weekend and surprised June with the vase of flowers on the dining room table. Also it appears that I missed the blooming season and only caught the tail end of the Azaleas blooming in the back yard, where I planted both white and red azalea blooms.

I was color deprived by the time I got back from NTC rotation at Fort Irwin that I took June to the Waterfalls which is between Franklin and Highlands, North Carolina. It is only 13 miles apart and there are 4 falls. The first is where kids like to slide down. The second is good for fishing as it has a lot of trout. Then Dry Falls and Bridal Veil Falls that you can drive under. With the new digital camera I also took some pictures of our town in Franklin and also some of the mountain scenery near Highlands. The waterfalls feeds the Little Tennessee River in Franklin, North Carolina.

I also took some pictures of the home area since the state of North Carolina had Poppies blooming in fields between Franklin and Sylva, North Carolina. Since I started working at West Care Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, North Carolina, I was impressed with their red roses and took a few shots of it during orientation, but I don't think they are the climbing Don Juan. I think they are also a hybrid.

On the April Drill Weekend, we had to clean all the M-16 rifles and M-9 pistols. The pictures gives a good view of our drill hall floor which also serves as our dining area and locker room. Then May Drill Weekend, we as a Direct Support Team enhanced our training by going to Eden, North Carolina and conducted a Power Plant Survey. I never realized how much went into using Coal to convert river water into electricity. However, we will see this when we go overseas as the technology is the same.
