Every year, as it has been in the past and remains so today, we are looking for any support available from the community to help with Summer Youth Day Camp expenses. We do not receive any grant funds for this program, even though it is a much needed program for the children. Now that modern technology has allowed us to have a website, I consider anyone who reads this to be a part of our community-at-large. Should you want to send a Summer Youth Camp Donation, we are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and can provide you with a receipt for a tax deductable donation. Our address is:
It's our belief that keeping the children in a learning mode will give them a headstart for the beginning of the school year. The Department of Education's statistics prove that most children lose about two months of learning during the summer. We believe children attending our camp will not have that problem.
Hollister R.E.A.C.H. is currently in the twenty-first (21) year of service to the communities because we get results for you. As always, our community organization works to improve and promote the social and economic welfare of all citizens in our service area. We provide tools to educate and motivate our communities by utilizing three approaches: educational enrichment programs, self-help initiatives and community organizing for social and economic justice.
Work continues on our Alternative Systems Campaign, which is going according to schedule. Read more about the project on the Alternative Systems page.
Our Thrift Shop is flourishing and fills a need in the community. Since our nearest shopping is 27 miles away in any direction, many, many of our people cannot get there because a large number of community members do not have a vehicle. We are always in need of tax deductible donations of linens, household items, appliances that work and furniture. Donations of clothing are usually plentiful but we are always glad to get new stock.
Our Between-Agers Group has grown to capacity! We have now started a waiting list for anyone who is interested in joining. I attribute the success to an active group that enjoys socializing and it is contagious. Everyone has caught the "Between-Ages Bug"!
