Glen Alexander chose the fiddle at age 11 and hasn't looked back since. His bluegrass influence is deeply rooted in his family history but his background is more like a muscial melting pot. He started with a good stock of bluegrass from his father's band Muddy Creek. His school band days helped to add a dash of classical, later for measure, a cup of swing and a sprig of jazz. His background allows him versatility to play with many different bands and venues. Glen has opened for such artists as Allison Krauss and Ricky Skaggs. He toured with The Carter Brothers band for 3 years and the highlight was playing at The Merle Watson Festival. He has won numerous awards including two first place finishes at The Galax Old Fiddler's Convention as well as Fiddler of the Festival at Union Grove in N.C. Glen makes his living as a musician and teaches fiddle to students of all ages. He now makes his home in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Shea.
