I have always had dreams of having a small farm of my own. In my recent years I have come the the conclusion that
food grown more naturally with less chemicals/hormones seem to be more healthy and taste alot better. In general,
tend to be of a better quality. Out of my own curiosities to grow a more environmentally sound/healthfull food,
I am more excited to share my crop with others. I would also like to become Friends with my customers;sharing ideas,
recipes, and any valuable input they may have to offer. I would also like to take any organic, compostable materials
so that I may make the best quality organic fertalizer and make my farm more healthful and productive.
Since I am a pet owner who hopes to have children, I do not like the idea of having lots of chemical pesticides or
fertilizers. I do not believe that using lots of chemicals is a healthy or tasty way to live. I also will be
using seed that comes from "certified organic" stock. I WILL NOT use/grow genetically altered seeds/plants on my
farm.
A Little about us
Hello. Welcome to our site. We are a couple who have been married since September 2001. My husband is originally
from here in Whiteville, NC. I, Farmer Brown (Erin), I am originally from Orlando, FL and have been in NC since
November 1997. Originally Moving to the Charlotte area of North Carlolina.
What you can expect from us
Hopefully we will begin operations in the spring of 2005. Once we have become established, we will have fresh,
non-conventionally grown produce and eggs available for purchase, Our products we will grow will be grown under
the principles of organics. Since we plan to stay a fairly small operation, we will be exempt from being legally
certified organic products. I will never make claims that my produce or any Item I am selling will be "Certified
organic".
Ways to enrich the community
I hope to be able to share lots of recipes and ideas with the community and even list recipes that are favorites
of other customers/friends. I will publish a recipe and have available online or also in paper form available
for free to all who want them. Contribution credit will be given to those who share recipes unless specified to remain anonymous.
