1986 Honda CB700 Nighthawk 700
Beautiful Bike, only 2875 original miles. Bike is all stock. Garaged all its life.
I purchased the bike from the second owner. He had the bike in storage for about 10 years. He was not able to ride it due to a work injury. The bike was pulled from storage and sent to the Honda Dealer here in Raleigh to get it running again.
Work they performed: Fuel Tank liner installed, to keep contaminants out of the fuel. Carbs taken off and cleaned out. Oil change and plugs. Turn stays replaced. New Battery. Brakes redone, and complete checkup/tuneup..
About a week after I got the bike, one of the throttle cables snapped when I was starting the bike. I went ahead and replaced them both, as that would hopefully avoid having to go back to Honda for another part. I purchased a HONDA Factory shop manual for the bike, thinking that I would need it if there ever were any problems with the bike, I could do some work myself.
Bike looks beautiful. Runs perfect, starts immediately, and sounds like new. Everything is smooth and easy on this bike. Its like it is new and just getting broken in. The dealer said this year of bike was built well and one of the best bikes made, and I should be able to get 50K miles and more out of it.
Why am I selling? Too many toys and wife wants new furniture. I hate to part with it, but she has been bitter about it since the day I bought it because I did not ask her first.
Problems. Not anything serious to list here. Because of the tank liner, the fuel gauge does not work. The right side of the front fairing has some oxydation or whitish discoloration on the sticker. Small scratches on the left of the front fairing. Tires are in great shape and tread is 80% on both tires, rear tire has some small cracks in the sidewalls, but the Honda guy told me that I would wear the tread long before the sidewall would be an issue, and the tread would get me about 10000 more miles. Everything else is in mint condition and bike is basically new.

Price is $2500 firm. That is a little less than I have in it and the bike is well worth it. I dont think you could find a bike in as good of condition and without mechanical problems and for as low mileage for anywhere near the price. Thanks.
