Buncombe County Rescue's Search and Rescue (SAR) Team is made up of volunteers. All personell are trained at a minimum to the SARTECH III level. They have special training in the areas of Wilderness as well as Urban Search and Rescue. These individuals also posses knowledge of basic medical care and train periodically in these areas for multiple situations. This team responds to requests by Fire Departments , Emergency Management, and surrounding counties for assistance in lost person incidents.
