History and Philosophy

Penguin Aviation, LTD. was founded in 2000 by Thomas J. “Tom” Reddeck, IV. Tom had been through several flight schools and instructors on his way to accomplishing his aviation goals. He found this to be very time consuming, frustrating and expensive way to obtain these certificates. Because of his experience, Tom decided the way to run a flight school would be to give his students very personalized training, allowing the student to remain with the same instructor throughout the ENTIRE training process. “The least expensive and most successful training depends upon the instructor developing a pattern and a rapport with the student. This allows more personalized, focused instruction and creates a much more enjoyable experience.” With Penguin Aviation the student avoids the needless expense that comes from jumping from instructor to instructor. We truly believe in the “less is more” theory.

With Penguin, you need not go elsewhere for aircraft rental, pilot supplies, instructional materials and even headsets. We are a David Clark retailer and independently operate an FAA approved Lasergrade test center located at Shiloh Airport.
