Story of Monitor Lizard

One afternoon in fall 97' I decided to take a journey to the record store in my hometown Fayetteville, NC. After viewing some disappointments I came across "The Bulletin Board" where I ran across a phone number and info for some unusual yet pleasing taste of influences concerning starting a rock and roll band. So I snatched the digits and skipped over to the payphone and gave Brock Ruggles who had just moved here to NC from Arizona,a call. Impressed in my knowledge of influences and musical background, he planned a date for a jam session. Members consisted of Brock, me, and Scott Luetgenau and later recruiting Sean Reeve to the chaos. 3 months and 100 tunes of Monitor Lizard later Brock returned to Arizona where he formed his now dreary, ambient, trashcore ensemble called "...and guppies eat their young".
