Ah, so you've found my part of Selphie's page, hmm? I humbly welcome you here...my name is Irvine Kinneas, only the best sniper in all of the Gardens! I asked Selphie if I could have a little place to just talk about myself, for any ladies that might be interested in me. Add a little midi of Roses and Wine from the FFVIII SDTK and you know...this couldn't help to get a date! Maybe I'll just get to spend some more time with Sefie...Err, anyway...onto the show!
So, you're curious about this handsome Galbadian sniper? Like Selphie, I'm kind of bad at talking about myself (unless you want all sorts of praises). So, I'll think I'll just fill in some parts that the "Final Fantasy VIII" manual left out.
NAME: Irvine Kinneas NOTE: Click here if you want to find out what Irvine means!
AGE: 17
HEIGHT: 6'0"
PARENTS: Unknown
GARDEN EXPERIENCE: Galbadia Garden
Here's a shot of my military school, G-Garden. It was a pretty interesting place. The shooting targets were some of the best I've seen!
STORY: An experet gunman and consummate lady's man. Irvine is known as the "Best Shooter in Garden". His reputation for cherishing the company of women is almost as well known as his accuracy with a gun. Although he seems to be uncaring and frivolous at first glance, in reality he is sensitive and serious.
HERE'S WHAT THE OFFICIAL STATEGY GUIDE FOR "FINAL FANTASY VIII" DONE BY BradyGAMES SAID ABOUT ME: Irvine is touted as an expert marksman who can use special ammo to attack enemies. He puts on airs and attempts to convince those around him that he's a misunderstood loner, an image he uses to his advantage when courting female students. However, when placed in a pressure situation, he tends to shed his tough exterior and quickly loses his composure.
*frowns*Maybe I should have just praised myself...

IRVINE'S WEAPONS
Irvine's main weapon is his gun, which can be upgraded at various junk shops in towns if you have the right items. Below is a list of Irvine's guns, and what you need to be able to upgrade it into them:
Valiant---------Steel Pipe (1)------------Screw (4)
Ulysses---------Steel Pipe (1)----------Bomb Fragment (1)-------Screw (2)
Bismarck--------Steel Pipe (1)----------Dynamo Stone (4)---------Screw (8)
Exeter----------Dino Bone (1)-------Moon Stone (1)-------Star Fragment (1)------Screw (18)

SHOT
Shot happens to be the name of Irvine's incredibly powerful Limit Break. Basically, when selected, you get to pick what ammo you're going to use and how much ammo you want to spend.
Normal Ammo (Normal Shot)-essentially, the average attack...it can shift between targets, though.
Shotgun Ammo (Scatter Shot)-this one is similar to Normal Ammo, save that you can hit all enemies.
Dark Ammo (Dark Shot)-another one that's similar to Normal Ammo, only it can cause various status effects
Fire Ammo (Flame Shot)-does damage to all enemies, and is great against creatures weakened by fire. However, it can't really be used against those resistant to or who absorb fire magic.
Demolition Ammo (Canister Shot)-powerful, but you can only hit one enemy at a time.
Fast Ammo (Quick Shot)-not very strong, but you can fire lots of rounds of this ammo onto a whole group of monsters!
AP Ammo (Armor Shot)-similar to Demolition Ammo, only stronger and faster. AP's short for armor piercing, by the way.
Pulse Ammo (Hyper Shot)-best ammo in the game, it can cause loads of damage to an enemy, and is pretty fast. The only bad thing is trying to get a lot of it...
NOTE: The amount of ammo you can spill out in a battle depends on how much you are carrying with you. Stock up on the right kinds of ammo (the more the better) whenever you can, and be careful in battle. You want to choose the right kind of ammo for each fight.
The Master Fisherman
Okay, this is both an Irvine-related sidequest, but it also kind of isn't. After you go through the mission with Selphie's party at the missile base, and you control of the flying Balamb Garden (which then crashes in Fisherman's Horizon), you will be able to explore the town of FH. You know the area near the Familiar Faces' elevator thing? One of the pipes nearby can actually be used like a ladder that takes you down onto a lower level if you press the X button nearby. Once you've followed the little pathway there, you'll come across a man who's complaining about his fishing spot. This is the Master Fisherman. When you talk to him, and are given the chance, select the "...What are you talking about?" option. He'll give you the Occult Fan III. Later on, when you have fought BGH251F2 and everyone's together again, head on back up the elevator. Irvine will be waiting for you, and he tells you that he's worried about Selphie (aww...how sweet!). He'll then join your party. By this time, you should go back to the spot where you first found the Master Fisherman. He'll ask you to meet him at the inn in town. If you agree to, then you'll find out a lot of interesting stuff about all of the people in town (especially Mayor Dobe), and you'll get a Megalixir if you listen to everything he says (including when he starts to leave the inn and socializes in FH). If you complete this sidequest, not only do you get to learn something about the people of FH, but you also get to meet a pretty friendly fellow who you'll come across later in Shumi Village, if you complete this quest.
NOTE: This can only be done during the time that Balamb Garden crashes into FH. If you wait any longer, then you'll miss your chance to meet the Master Fisherman!
Getting Irvine's Card
You remember the Card Queen in Balamb, right? Well, if you keep challenging her and she moves to Dollet, she'll ask for certain cards so that her father can make new cards (he's a painter there). You must loose these cards to her (they can later be reclaimed by her brother, the kid in the house with the painter). The first card she asks for is MiniMog, which her father uses to make Kiros' card. After that, you'll have to get her back into Dollet again, and then she'll want Sacred's card. When she wins this, it will be used to make Irvine's card, which can then be found in Mayor Dobe's house in FH (his wife, Flo, has it...just challenge her to a game). Of course, there are more cards you can get from the Card Queen if you keep moving her to Dollet, and I suggest that you try getting all of them (they're really rare). After the Card Queen says she's going to Dollet, you can then find her on the second floor of the pub in Dollet.

This is where I'm putting all the pics that Sefie helped me find. I hope you have a happy time browsing through them. I put the big pics in thumbnails so they won't take so long to load! Just click on a thumbnail for a bigger picture!

Here's a pic done by the awesome Dragonlady Thanks!
