In
Loving Memory
Of Melanie
Melanie, I leave this candle burning for you to light your way.

It takes only one small candle to show you the way. It takes just a kind word to help someone today. Reach out to others, show that you care . For like a burning candle ~ It may not always be there.

COLE BABY REGISTRY

I'M FREE

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard him call;
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
I found that place at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared a laugh, a kiss;
Ah yes, these things, I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much;
Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seems all to brief;
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.

I dedicate this page to a lovely, wonderful, caring person who left us on Mother's Day,
Sunday May 14, 2000.
Melanie did a lot for the adoption community.
She was a Colebaby and dedicated much of her time to fight for adoptees rights. To Melanie, the selling of babies was both immoral and illegal, as it is to me and a lot of other people. She fought to get the media and the public aware of what was happening in the real world with babies being sold.
She helped anyone who needed help. She gave so much of herself to helping others. She always found time to help a friend.
Melanie was a friend to a lot of us. She had major heart problems, but she had a big, good heart that she opened up to so many of us. It's never easy letting go and is so hard to say goodbye to a friend who meant so much.
Melanie grew up believing she was nobody. That wasn't the case at all. Melanie was the finest person I ever had the privilege of knowing. She made her mark throughout the Internet. Melanie will always be remembered as "The Colebaby."
I have enclosed a guestbook at the bottom. Please sign it and let us all know you have been here.
Melanie may be gone, but she will never be forgotten. The heart does go on.

GOOD-BYE
Treasured Friend

Though life
is full of changes,
part of me just wants
everything to stay the same,
and that's why
saying good-bye is so hard.
We've had too many good times
for me to pretend that
I won't feel your absence--
I'll feel it in more ways
than I want to think about.
But I'll also feel
a certain warmth
each time I remember
the love, the secrets
and the laughter we've shared...
I'm sorry to say good-bye,
but I'll always be glad
for the closeness we've shared.
I'll always be glad
to have known you.

It has been a while since
you left. But that
doesn't mean you haven't
been on my mind.
I think about you so much.
You and I will always be close.
And you deserve to know that
you always have - and always will -
hold a very special place in my heart.
Along with my favorite memories
and right beside my highest hopes,
I keep a very precious reminder that
...we'll never be apart.
