Razzle played its first show in February 2000, but its members have all
been involved in music circles and recording projects in NC for some time now. Stylistically, you might say that they bridge the gap between The Minutemen and Iron Maiden. Most of the tunes are instrumental, but all of the tunes rock in the grand epic rock  manner.
Razzle's roots started when Dave Bjorkback, Dave Cantwell and Bob Wall were asked to record some tunes for a tribute album for Tucson, Arizona's The Piz back in 1998. On the tribute album they went under the band psuedonyms of "Torch Marauder and Friends",  "Barnacle Farm", "J-Card",and "Rudd" They originally recorded five tunes (four of which were released), and at the time of recording were calling themselves "The Right Hand of Gomez" (named after the eclectic technique of Chapel Hill, NC bassist Anne Gomez) . After the project was done, they decided to stay together and write some more tunes. In the summer of 1999 they added Al Henderson to the fold and re-christened themselves Razzle.
Razzle is a "super group" of musicians who at one time were all involved in the music scene in Wilmington, NC of the early to mid-nineties at one time or another. Razzle bassist Dave Cantwell was formerly the amazing drummer of Raleigh's Analogue, and bassist of Durham's Drug Yacht. He is also currently drumming with Cantwell, Gomez and Jordan. Razzle's drummer is Chicago native Dave Bjorkback, also formerly of Drug Yacht  (on drums), and Wilmington's now defunct Tricky the Cosmonaut and The Cruise Control Pills. He also currently moonlights as The Torch Marauder. Razzle guitarist Al Henderson was formerly of Tex Svengali whose roots were in Wilmington, but later migrated to Chapel Hill in the late nineties.
Razzle guitarist Bob Wall is also formerly of Tricky the Cosmonaut and also in Wilmington's Two Headed Dawg and The Wyricks  (and a slew of other Wilmington bands), and has done various recording projects over the past few years since fleeing the Port City in 1997.
Razzle draws its name from one Nicholas Dingle who was killed by Vince Neil on 8/12/1994. Nicholas went by the name of Razzle when he was drummer of the famed 80's hair band Hanoi Rocks. Let's also not forget the 70's board game Razzle by Parker Brothers which the boys enjoy playing when the rock is not being delivered.
