WELCOME

Cathy's Christmas Page
My most memorable Christmas?
Do you know, I can't think of one. They are all so special to me.
However, I will tell you a story instead.
I have been able to guess all my presents every year
until the one I am about to tell you about.
We were living in California with my parents at the time. My husband
put my present under the tree and told me that I couldn't lift it or shake it.
The present was big. It was a perfect square box
It almost killed me to not to be able to touch it.
I left it alone. I behaved. But I had to know what it was.
I started asking questions and got quite a bit of answers
but still I couldn't guess it. Christmas was getting closer,
and I was still asking questions and they all were still answering.
It was the first time that I couldn't guess what it was.
I got so frustrated and decided to leave the questioning alone.
My husband finally allowed me to pick it up.
It was heavy.
A perfect Square Box
What on earth could it be?
Christmas Eve finally arrived. We always got to open presents on
Christmas Eve.
Not me!
I had to wait til the morning to open this one.
When Christmas morning arrived I was worse than a kid. I went to my
present and started tearing the wrapping off. When it was
cleared to where I could see it, I started crying.
It was the most beautiful gift I have ever received.
Not because I didn't like my others,
but because I couldn't guess what it was and it was a surprise.
You see, it was a set of China with a beautiful design that I would have
picked out. My husband knew me. He knew just what I would like.
I guess you could say that THAT was the most memorable Christmas.
But I also remember the others too. Each one just as memorable.
To this day, I don't try and guess what my presents are. I have forgotten how.
I am from California and now live in North Carolina.
I have not seen my parents and sisters in
3 years and I am missing them more and more, right at this time.
This is my postcard to them.
I am thinking of you during this holiday. I sure wish
I could be there with you. It is alot warmer.
Just know that I am with you in Spirit and that I love you all very much.
On December 2, 2000, North Carolina just had a boost of Christmas
Spirit brought to them. It snowed from 10:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m.
December 3, 2000.
Of course, we bundled up and went outside to make a snowman
and when we were done with that, we made snocreme.
My granddaughter saw her first snow. (She is only 14 months old).
I guess life is what you make of it. I was just sitting here thinking
of what to write when it dawned on me...
What is Christmas really about?
I have been thinking all wrong. I was trying to figure out what
I was going to give my friends and family.
I think that is why I have waited for so long to get into the Christmas Spirit.
I have been trying to think of how I can afford to get them all a gift.
No one has come up to me and said,
"This is what I want for Christmas..."
Christmas isn't about the gifts that we are to give
or the ones we want to receive. Christmas is about LOVE.
It is about being with your family and friends.
I am originally from California. I now live in North Carolina.
I am surrounded by family and friends here.
My husband, my daughter and her family, and my son.
I am also surrounded by my husband's family, and I am blessed with
Wonderful In-Laws.
These are some things that I picked up along the way.
I just thought that I would share them with you.
Santa's Secret Wish
And who better to tell this story than my good friend...

My First Christmas In Heaven
I see countless Christmas trees around the world below
With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars, reflecting in the snow
The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away the tear
For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear
But the sounds of music can't compare with the Christmas choir up here
I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring
For it is beyond description to hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart
But I am not so far away, we really aren't apart
So be happy for me, dear ones, you know I hold you dear
And be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I sent you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above
I sent you each a memory of my undying love
After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold
It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other, as my Father said to do
For I can't count the blessing or love he has for each of you
So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away the tear
Remember I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
