Lake Norman Shag Club was organized in 1983 to promote the ever-popular dance of the south, "The Shag." Our current membership is 131 shaggers. Planning for 2010 Chicken Pickin' Is Underway!!
Thanks to all who attended the Chicken Pickin' Planning meeting on Wednesday, October 14 at the Denver House. With all the support from club members, this is shaping up to be the biggest and best Chicken Pickin' yet. Donnie and I appreciate your support and willingness to help with this endeavor. We are excited about the planning in the months to come. If any other members would like to get involved with us, please give me a call or email me. Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, December 2 at 6:00 p.m. at the Denver House. Thanks again, Sue Warren

LNSC Christmas Party is Announced!
Hello LNSC Members,
If you missed the November meeting, there were several issues discussed that need to be reiterated:
Our December meeting will be held December 5th at Cowan’s Ford Golf Club. This is our annual Christmas Dinner and Party. Members only. There will be a cocktail/social time from 7:00 to 7:30. Dinner will be served at 7:30. Our DJ for the evening will be Gene Hensley. Everyone is encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to be donated to Toys for Tots. If you are planning on attending and did not sign up at the meeting, please contact Bill and Wanda Cavin at 704-528-3330 or by email: billcavin1347@msn.com . Cost is $25.00 per person. We already have 44 people signed up. We only have room in the dining area upstairs for 80 people. So sign up quickly.
RSVP by November 27th. We need to give Cowan’s Ford a head count.
Also, at our December meeting, we will be voting on officers for 2010. During the November meeting the nominating committee announced the following slate for the LNSC Board.

Vice- President: Sharon Simpson
Secretary: Pam Bundy
Treasurer: Gwynn Ford
We will also take nominations from the floor. The nominee must be aware and willing to serve on the board before the nomination.

Safari Miles Shag Dance Kick Off Party with DJ, Gene Hensley. Safari Miles, in Denver, plans to have Saturday night Shagging from 8:00 - 11:00 p.m. For more information contact Debbie Green (704) 728-7629.
November 18
First Year Birthday Bash for Lake Norman Currents Magazine. Sharon Simpson has invited all Lake Norman Shag Club Members to attend this special event. It takes place at Havana Social Club, Kenton Place, Cornelius. Please RSVP by Friday, November 13, at 704-749-8788. They would like for you to bring a $5-$10 gift card from the store of your choice to support Hope House in Huntersville.
November 14
Fire Barrel Party- All LNSC Members are invited to attend our first Fire Barrel Party with DJ, Donnie Meadows!The party is at Don & Sue Warren's home. The fun begins at 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Directions: If you are traveling West on Highway 150 from Mooresville you will turn right on Sherrills Ford Road at the Terrell Bait and Tackle Store. Travel on Sherrills Ford Rd about two miles and turn right on Island Point Road which is in front of Sherrills Ford Elementary School. Follow Island Point Road until the end of the road. This is three 1/2 miles. Don and Sue Warren's home is 9619 Island Point Road on the right hand side.The road will make a circle, if you miss the address. Save this DATE!
