When we started our research into kayak design and building we found only general information and many sites that sold design plans or complete kits. We decided it would be more interesting to go it alone, but we did reference a book by Chris Kulczychi - The Kayak Shop - quite a bit.
We've enjoyed the first two boats immensely, and they ended up being very resilient. They've seen quite a bit of action in the surf with minimal damage. After over two years of use, the only problem we've had is a delamination of the marine spar varnish. For the next two boats, we are using a slow cure epoxy that should help prevent that problem.
So on to the second set of boats. They are a set of twins, obviously offspring of the Stealth. They will be ligher, faster, and more manuevervable than the Stealth, and should provide plenty of fun for everyone. These boats are still under construction, and we will continue to post pictures as they come together. Enjoy.
