thoughts and opinions… the unofficial journal of iota xi phi!

the month’s thought… i got work to do!
between january and march have been so hectic for us. we won our first competition in february at Wingate; our founder FINALLY has one of his books published and our school recently lost a great young lady. add all the excitement and sadness into balancing our daily school work and step practice and… what else can we say.
we’re glad that we won and it’s all good but don’t think we are going to start resting now; we have more shows to do. we also have OUR OWN SHOW that we will be producing and we will let you know more about that when information comes available. we hope to see all of you there.
our founder james l. imes finally has his book published. it is selfpublished with his production company and greatunpublished.com. the book is called a walk in my shoes, and it is a fiction novel that deals with the problems of four young african american teenagers. if you are a Reynolds high school student or live in winston-salem, email him at jaeyel@blackplanet.com and he can give you the information; for all others, go to his page in the table above. that page will have all the purchasing information that you need.
our school has been mourning the loss of one of our beloved students; Kathie Sleap. she lost her life on february 22 in a car accident on her way to school. our school is raising money for a scholarship in her name and if you wish to contribute we have provided the following address:
Katie Sleap Memorial Scholarship Fund
c/o Winston-Salem Youth Symphony
610 Coliseum Drive
Winston-Salem,
NC 27104
that is all we have for this month. check back in a few weeks for information about our step show.
don’t forget to sign the guestbook!!!
