Lenten Devotional Guide - March 30

Today's Scripture Reading:
Luke 15:1-10

Thoughts for the Day:
Who are you more like today, the lost sheep or one of the 99?

How do these two parables about God seeking out what is lost make you feel? Have you EXPERIENCED what is described in verse 5?

Think about verse 10: "there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." Daydream about this verse a bit...what do you think this scene might look like? What might it sound like?

The people mutter because Jesus "welcomes sinners and eats with them." How do YOU relate to people with "bad reputations"?

Fasting Update:
I guess today brings a big challenge for those of you who are giving up soft drinks for Lent. The drinks from our Pepsi fund-raiser arrive today. When you come to pick up your orders this weekend, you'll be in the midst of soft drink heaven (500 cases)...yet you won't be able to partake for two more weeks. Stay strong, friends! You can do it!

My fast of not eating out is still going o.k. Last night I made a pizza...including the dough from scratch! It was really good (if I do say so myself) and more importantly, it was fun making it! Sometimes slowing down and doing things the hard way really pays off!

Have a good weekend everybody! You are in my prayers!
- Kelly
