Lenten Devotional Guide - March 2

Today's Scripture Reading:
Luke 1:57-80

Thoughts for the Day:
This is the amazing story of the birth of John the Baptist. All during Elizabeth's pregnancy, Zechariah had been silenced for his lack of faith. But now, at John's birth, he was allowed to speak for the first time...and he burst into praise for God!

Did you hear about that teenage guy who decided to go a whole year without saying anything? You think 40 days of lent is hard! I saw him on a talk show and he said he just figured that he talked too much and he needed to listen more. I'm really curious to hear what he has to say after his year is up.

If you took more time to listen, what do you think would be the result?

What would it take for you to become more aware of God's activity in your life?

What would it take for you to burst into song like Zechariah?

Fasting Update:
I'm faced with a dilemma. Tonight is the all-nite lock-out. We're supposed to have pizza at midnight and breakfast at McDonald's. I guess both situations could be considered "eating out". The temptation to make up new rules as I go along is great. But I guess it will be a bag supper and a pop-tart for me tonight...oh well, the best things in life are never easy!

Have a great weekend!
- Kelly

P.S. Here are the readings for this weekend:
