Thoughts for the Day:
The teachers of the law and the chief priests are really out to get Jesus now. They try to trap him with questions but he responds to their every challenge.
I appreciate people who ask difficult questions and have the ability to "think critically". In fact, I try to be this way myself sometimes. But do you ever let doubt and cynicism get the best of you? Sometimes we get stuck in theological and philosophical debates and we neglect the most important part of our faith...that is, believing with all our heart.
This week, consider how you can take your understanding of the life and death of Jesus and allow it to change your life completely. By doing so, you may move the sacred story from your head...to your heart.
Fasting Update:
I have to admit, going without "eating out" has not gotten any easier for me. If anything, I have become more weary and eager to be done with this fast. But several of you have encouraged me in the last 24 hours and your kind words help keep me going.
The creative worship service last night was absolutely beautiful. Thank you all for the way you participated in the service and were open to the movement of the Holy Spirit. What I liked most was that it really was up to each person what they got out of the experience. And I have heard from several of you about what you learned or felt during the service. Thank you for sharing with me...it is such a privilege to be your brother in Christ!
We have one more difficult week of Lent to go. Hang in there!
