The Gwyniad is a freshwater whitefish native to Bala Lake in northern Wales. It is found nowhere else in the world. The population is threatened by deteriorating water quality and by the ruffe, a fish introduced to the lake in the 1980s and now eating the eggs and fry of gwyniad. As a conservation measure, eggs of gwyniad were transferred to Llyn Arenig Fawr, a nearby reservoir.

National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day is a food day to celebrate the beloved and classic American comfort food, grilled cheese sandwich. If you love food holidays half as much as I do, you’re going to enjoy this April 12 holiday. It is quick and easy to make. and it’s easy on your pocketbook.

People have been consuming the ever-popular grilled cheese sandwiches for seemingly ever. Its roots go back to ancient Roman times when bread was topped with cheese and melted. It wasn’t until the 1920s that sliced bread was created. Shortly after that, today’s grilled cheese sandwich began to be enjoyed by tens, if not hundreds of millions of people young and not so young. What do you need to celebrate Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day? The ingredients are cheese, sliced bread, a little butter, and your appetite. Any cheese will do. If you are looking to be a little daring, add ham, a couple of slices of tomato or tuna fish to it, then grill it in a frying pan.
