Brigid's Cybertemple

The Celtic Fire Goddess Brigid was 'adopted' by the Christian Church (One might say kidnapped) and turned into St. Brigid of Ireland.
Her rites and traits remain much the same, Her Priestesses were converted to Nuns, her shrine at Kildare converted to a Church.
The eternal flame there continued, only tended by those 'nuns' instead of the 13 Priestesses who had before.
They may in fact have even been the same 13 women when the change occurred.
She had and has both a Sacred well and a eternal flame at that Shrine now Church.
As She governs both Fire and Water elements, though She is better known as A fire Goddess.

She is shown in Both Pagan and Christian Art holding flame and sometimes water as well.

Her symbol is the 'Brigid's cross' which is not a Christian Cross but an ancient Pagan symbol of balance and fire energy. This is a quilt I made in 2017 of her cross symbol

Brigid was also called Bridget, also Bride, and of course by the Saint name as well, but all are the same Goddess.
Her Shrine at Kildare still stands, in ruins and the well and fire altar sites still are there.
Of Course Her newer Church is there as well, and sadly better visited, but many people even modern worshipers of Hers still do pilgrimage to her ancient Pagan Sites there.

----------------Invocations of Brigid--------------

"I am the healing well....I am the purging fire!"

-------

"Brigid, excellant woman, sudden flame, may the bright fiery sun take us to the lasting kingdom."

-------

(10th century Poem attributed to Brigid herself)
--(note the 'Three Mary's maiden Mother Crone ref. to Ancient Pagan Goddesses) also the Pagan Dancing and Singing....an all the drinking LOL)

I’d like to give a lake of beer to God.
I’d love the heavenly
Host to be tippling there
For all eternity.

I’d love the men of Heaven to live with me,
To dance and sing.
If they wanted, I’d put at their disposal
Vats of suffering.

White cups of love I’d give them
With a heart and a half;
Sweet pitchers of mercy I’d offer
To every man.

I’d make Heaven a cheerful spot
Because the happy heart is true.
I’d make the men contented for their own sake.
I’d like Jesus to love me too.

I’d like the people of heaven to gather
From all the parishes around.
I’d give a special welcome to the women,
The three Marys of great renown.

I’d sit with the men, the women and God
There by the lake of beer.
We’d be drinking good health forever
And every drop would be a prayer.
------------ And a Invocation of my own in Brigid's honor:-----------

“Brigid, our lady of the eternal flame
and of the sacred well water
Purge and cleanse all our blame
and heal our pain upon your altar.”
