2002 Fourth Degree Exemplification

We return to Cary and the Embassy Suites for the 2002 Exemplification.  If you were a candidate last year, return with your brothers to see it from the gallery.  It will warm your heart and stir your patriotic spirit.

The exemplification will be held again this year at the Embassy Suites in Cary. The room price has increased to $105. It is difficult to find a hotel that will seat 600+ at a banquet without going to a first class facility (ergo, and paying a first class price). You may book your reservations at any time. This cost of the dinner has not been determined yet but is expected to be the same as last year.

   Please note that there are changes from last year's schedule, payment amounts, and spouse lunches.  Read everything to avoid disappointment. 

Room Reservations.  Rate for our group is $105 per night, plus tax.  This rate is available until September 28th, 2002,  Do not expect rooms to be available at the last minute.  Rates increase to prevailing rate after deadline set by hotel.  

Sponsoring New Candidates.  If you are sponsoring a candidate, reserve a room for them for the one night at the same time they sign their Form 4.  Talk to them about the event.  Review this information with them.  Don't delay until the fall.  You will be glad you thought ahead!

Fees

• Candidates - $65.00, includes ONE dinner ticket and Fourth Degree social baldric, lapel pin and certificate.
• Clergy - No charge for clergy.  Sponsoring assembly, by custom, has reimbursed the Master's cost ($40.00)
• Dinner for Observers, wives, friends:  $39.00 each.
• Ladies Luncheon:  $15.00 per attendee, payable in advance to the Assembly
• Payment of all fees is to the local assembly (make check out to your Assembly)

Registration

• Candidates - Fill out Form 4 and give ALL COPIES with payment by check to the Faithful Navigator.  Remember to have all required signatures, council FS signature, membership number, and other blocked filled in before delivery to Assembly.  Incomplete forms must be corrected before acceptance.
• Others - Payment for dinner and ladies luncheon must be made to Assembly.
•     Every effort will be made to seat members of an assembly together

Deadlines

• Candidate registration                               September 10th
• All dinner and luncheon reservations        September 10th
• Space available reservations                    September 15th
•     Late registrants may not be able to sit with group

Dress

   Exemplification - EVERYONE must wear black tuxedo, black cummerbund, black bow tie, black socks, black shoes and white pleated shirt without ruffles (regular collar, if possible, not wing-tip collar).  Members of the Armed Forces may wear their full dress uniforms.  Clergy are requested to wear their black attire with roman collar.  Current and Past State Deputies may wear their robes.  Observers may wear the jewel of their current office.

  Dinner-Dance - Dress is formal and ladies and gentlemen should dress accordingly.

Honor Guard

  All Sir Knights with full regalia are urged to participate in the Honor Guard.  They should report to the District Marshall at 10:30 a.m. on October 26th in the hall adjacent to the meeting room.

Cancellations

The cancellation deadline is October 20th.  There will be no refunds for candidates or guests after this date unless there are extraordinary circumstances.  Room cancellations are subject to the hotel's policy and must be made through them.
