The next time I remember
seeing them was when one of them (I think it was j-p.
I didn't pay much attention
at the time!) came over in front of us to get a
picture of the Moffatts.
I remember him running back to the counter, trying
to jump up, and then missing
and falling back down! (I hope he doesn't read
this. This could be the
FIRST bon Voyager embarrassing moment on record!).
After the concert, we hung
around in the lobby, hoping to see the Moffatts. I
was hyper because I had
rushed out and seen Clint and Dave run by the front
door. My mom interrupted
my joy fest by whispering (well, maybe yelling. we sat
near the speakers for 1
1/2 hours :P), "Hey, those are the boys who sat
across from us!" we convinced
her to talk to them. she opened with, "Hi, are
you guys related to the
band?" They responded with, "no, but you think we
look like them, don't you?"
we all had a good laugh, and then Steve told us
that although the guys weren't
related to the Moffatts, they had their own
band: Bon Voyager, a great,
family-oriented band that had played around the
world. He gave us promo-fact
sheets (or whatever u want to call them). I
immediately asked them to
sign mine. We were then kicked outside because the
staff had to set up for
another event later that night. Then we were
"properly introduced" to
the guys. We also found out the secret of the name:
they wanted to be called
"voyager", but the name was already taken. Plus,
they wanted to add a little
international feel to the name (bon). Cool, huh?
after talking for a while,
they asked if they could sing for us. They did 2
seperate (but small) a cappella
'concerts'. We were hooked right away! they
did mostly covers, including
"end of the road" by boys 2 men (it was AMAZING!)
and one 'n sync song. between
the little shows, we took pictures and talked
some more. One of my friends
was lucky enough to get a free *World of Dreams*
cd. After that, my friends
and I drifted away a little bit, excited about
this new band and hoping
to catch a glimpse of the Moffatts. the adults, and
sometimes the guys, kept
talking. I remember j-p leaning against a wall by
himself. I also remember
saying, "oh, he looks so lonely!!! We should go talk
to him!" unfortunately,
we couldn't think of a single thing to say (although
now I have tons of questions!),
so we ended up not talking to him. After a
failed attempt to get the
Moffatts autographs, we started walking back to
BV's car with them (well,
behind them, but we had permission from them. we
weren't like stalking them.
they told us to go to their car with them so we
could buy the cd, lol).
I remember j-p fell on the way there (poor j-p! all
this embarrassing stuff,
hehehe!). I think he was just tired (we all were...
it was late). We followed
steve, who had one arm around jon and one around
j-p (awww... *smile*). We
got to their car (a white mini-van, if u care),
bought cds, and had more
pics taken. All the while, my friend christina and I
were trying to figure out
why jon looked so darn familiar to us. We even told
him he looked familiar,
to which j-p responded, "You guys look familiar, too."
I later figured out that
jon reminded me of a guest star on the old show
"full house". lol. Then
we were gently reminded that the guys had to drive
all the way back to Cape
Cod that night so they had to leave right away. They
left us with some sweet
parting words and smiles. Since then, we have been
dedicated BV fans, and we
most likely always will be!
