SOUTH YARMOUTH – The young
pop-rock group the Hansons may get some competition
from another brother act living on the Cape.
Known as bon Voyager, the Greenberg: brothers – David, 14; John-Paul, 12;
and Jonathan,
who will turn 11 on July 27 – sing and dance to original rock and pop songs
and sport long
lochs (not quite as long as the Hansons).
They have a CD with a collection of-their original numbers, a home video
and young fans who
send them-e-mail letters.
They’re organizing a fan club and hope to land a record contract.
Although they wouldn't making it like the Hansons and becoming rich and
famous, a goal
closer to their hearts is using their music to help people in need.
Influenced by their father, who has been involved in humanitarian efforts
around the world,
they say they plan to donate a portion of their profits from their CD to
charity.
Sharing love of music
Greenberg has infused his love of music and compassion in his nine children,
who range in
age from 8 to 21. His older sons are also musicians who are involved in
humanitarian
projects overseas.
David, John-Paul and Johnathan began singing when they were toddlers. They
grew up
listening to the Beatles and Beach Boys. David was part of a singing group
with his older
brothers in Belgium. Recognizing their budding talent and growing interest
in music, a year
or so ago Greenberg decided to write songs for his sons. The boys, who
are fluent in both
English and Dutch and speak a little French, sang at charitable events
and festivals in
Belgium, Portugal, Spain and France, did a summer tour in Portugal and
a live TV show in
Brussels.
