Inspiration
Here you'll find a collection of poems, lyrics, and quotes that have given me inspiration in this fight. I hope they'll be as useful to you.
I AM NOT FINE
A poem by Lauren Brower
(Soon to be published in Coping Magazine, Spring 2001)
Just because I tell you
the words you want to hear,
it does not mean my mind
is completely free of fear.
Just because I put on
the face you want to see,
it does not mean reality
isn't frightening to me.
Just because I handle
my daily tasks at hand,
it does not mean I'm ready,
that I won't falter as I stand.
Could it be that you
are afraid that I'm not fine,
and I force you to face
the fears in your own mind...
Bravado
Words by N. Peart
If we burn our wings
Flying to close to the sun
If the moment of glory
Is over before it's begun
If the dream is won- Though everything is lost
We will pay the price But we will not count the cost
When the dust has cleared
And victory denied
A summit too lofty
River a little too wide
If we keep our pride- Though paradise is lost
We will pay the price But we will not count the cost
And if the music stops
There's only the sound of the rain
All the hope and glory
All the sacrifice in vain
If love remains- Though everything is lost
We will pay the price But we will not count the cost
Already There
by Lauren Brower
I left you at home today
But you came with me anyway.
I filled up the car, performed my tasks
To speak to you? I wouldn't ask.
I called a friend, I ate my lunch,
Something was missing I had a hunch.
By the time I stopped to say a prayer,
I discovered you…already there.
more to come....
