Part 7

They were both hot and sweaty as they pressed against each other. As they got their rhythm perfect, Nick felt himself approaching the edge. Was Liz there yet? He couldn’t go early. As he looked down and saw the look of pleasure on her face though, he knew that she was there too. As he made one last hard motion, they both let go at once. With deep sighs they fell back down on the rumpled sheets. Wow…that was all either of them could think. Liz rolled over and rested her head on Nick’s chest as they picked up where they left off. “I’ve…..had…the time of my life…”

They both laughed, “You said it man….” Nick put his arm around Liz and both of them, exhausted, fell fast asleep.

The next morning, Nick got up and felt Liz still there beside him. He leaned over, kissed her on the forehead, and went downstairs. When he came back, he had tray with French Toast and juice. In the corner was a single rose. He set the tray down, and sat on the edge of the bed. He bent down and whispered into Liz’s ear. “Wake up sleepy head,” She opened her eyes, smiled at him, then sat up. She yawned as she stretched out her arms.

“Some movie huh?” They both died laughing. Nick loved this. He hadn’t laughed like this in forever. He got the tray and sat the breakfast in her lap. “Wow, and he cooks too!” The food was delicious. Liz finished up and went to get dressed. Nick went back downstairs to clean up some dishes. As he was putting up the last plate, Brian walked in.

“Hey man, so how’d it go?”

“How did what go?” Nick asked.

“Your date with Liz man…I want details. Spill it.” Nick didn’t say a word. “Oh man…I knew it…you didn’t like her? Was it that bad? Awww man she’s gonna hate me.”

“Nick have you seen my other shoe???” Brian’s head turned as he heard Liz yell from upstairs. His face turned bright red.

“Well….I um…I have to go to the….Leighanne’s waiting on that thing, ya know….that thing that I told you about. So, I’m gonna go to the…that…bye!” Brian walked out and Nick was still standing there. He shook his head, he’d explain it all to Brian later, after he thanked him for introducing him to the perfect girl. As Nick went back upstairs, he walked past a familiar picture on a small table. It was a picture of him and Mandy. He looked up the stairs and back at the picture. Then he smiled, picked up the picture, and tossed it in the trash. He headed back upstairs to his room. As Liz met him in the hallway, he grabbed her and kissed her.

“What was that for?” she asked.

“Oh I don’t know,” he lied… “You just looked like you needed kissing.” They smiled again and Nick took her home. They kissed in the doorway before her headed back to his house. The whole way home, Nick never stopped smiling. He knew that last night was just the beginning of many more to come….
