After they got Scrappy back inside and settled, they headed to dinner. Nick took Liz to a fancy Italian restaurant. They got a corner table, which was lit only by candle light. The two of them talked for hours. They talked about everything. Music, relationships, their families, likes and dislikes, what they each did for fun , where they were from, and embarrassing moments….everything. Things were going perfect. They realized that they had lost track of time as they looked around to see that they were the only ones left in the place. Before they left though, Nick told Liz that they had to do one thing. Something that he had always wanted to do. He took a piece of spaghetti from his plate and looked at Liz. She knew exactly what he was doing. Both took and end in their mouth, as they got closer…and closer. Right as their lips were about to touch, Nick stopped. “Damn, the spaghetti got cold!” Liz died laughing. “Let’s get outta here,” he said with a smile.
After the dinner, Nick drove Liz around and showed her some of the hot spots in the area. He showed her the clubs people hung out at and etc. They started to leave the major part of town though and headed out a little way. Nick pulled into a small grassy area and cut the car off. He got out, walked around and opened Liz’s door. “Why thank you kind sir,” she said as he took her hand and helped he out. “Where are we?”
“You’ll see,” was all he said. They walked towards some trees and then straight through them. When they came out onto the other side, Liz saw the most beautiful site. There was the most elegant looking park. The walkway was lit with small white lights. The lights however were no match for the millions of starts that shown above them. Nick hooked his arm with Liz’s and they began to walk through the park. Again they talked about everything. It was the greatest thing. Liz was the first person Nick had found he could talk to for hours and never run out of things to say. What he didn’t know however was that she was thinking the exact same thing about him.
It started to get a little bit chilly outside so Nick suggested that they go back to his place for a movie. Liz agreed and they headed back. What neither one of them knew though was that they were both hoping for a little more than a movie. Perhaps that’s why the two of them were silent and all grins the whole way.
