After their conversation that night, Kevin, Leslie, and Nick drove back to Nick’s house. They had to think of what to do about this. Nick could not believe what he had just heard from Kevin. One of his best friends…as well as Leslie’s. They both felt betrayed…how could AJ do something like this. When they got to Nick’s, there was a car already in the driveway….it was too dark to tell who it belonged to. Kevin and Nick got out of the car, “Leslie you stay here, don’t move.” Leslie nodded. Nick kissed her on the cheek then went with Kevin the inspect the strange car. They crept up trying not to make a sound.
Kevin whispered to Nick, “Psssst, man come here. Check this out.” Kevin pointed to the license plate on the back of the car. It said in big black letters “BONE”. Nick’s eyes widened.
“What the hell? Man what is he doing here?” Nick asked. He and Kevin stood up and looked around. They didn’t see or hear AJ anywhere in sight. Nick swallowed hard, “You think he’s in the house? I mean, he can’t be right? My alarm would have gone off. Unless….” Nick reached in his pocket. He picked up his keys….the house key was gone. Kevin and Nick looked at each other and nodded. They walked cautiously to the front door. It was already slightly cracked. Kevin put his head to the door to see if he could hear anything inside. The house was silent. They slowly stepped inside and looked around the pitch black room. Nick whispered to Kevin, “You check upstairs…I’ll go downstairs.” Kevin nodded and started to walk to the staircase. All of a sudden, a loud noise ame from outside. Kevin and Nick ran to the front door just in time to see Nick’s car screaching out of the driveway. “LESLIE!!!!!” Nick screamed. As the driver turned around…Nick caught a gleam of light reflecting in his sunglasses….
