Part 3

The next afternoon, Leslie was outside doing some yard work when she heard noise over at Nick’s house. The girl’s car had stayed there all night, and as Leslie turned, she saw her leaving. She had on a large jersey…Nick’s jersey. Leslie sighed and went back to her work. As the black Mercedes squeeled down the street, Leslie looked up to see the girl smile at her. Leslie felt her blood boil. She couldn’t believe that Nick had spent all that time last night flirting with her when he had a girlfriend. Who did he think he was?

Leslie finished trimming the small bushes in the front of her house , then went inside to get a shower. She went in and turned the water on. She made it freezing cold. She took her sweaty clothes off and climbed in. She sat there for a while and thought about everything. She was only 19 and was living on her own hundreds of miles away from home, from everything she knew. Then, she had met this wonderful guy who she felt an immediate connection with, only to find that he played her. She couldn’t help her feelings for him though. Even after seeing his girlfriend, she still wanted to be with him. She couldn’t understand it. She had never felt this way about a guy before. She knew she was stupid for liking him, but she couldn’t just shut off her feelings.

Leslie finally turned off the water and climbed out of the shower. She dried off and put on a short, silk robe. She went downstairs to the kitchen to grab a bite to eat when again, there was a knock at the door. Leslie was sure that she knew who it was, and she didn’t want to talk to him….but she couldn’t help herself. She went and opened the door, and sure enough…it was him. He stood there for a second until he finally said, “Well aren’t you gonna invite me in?” Leslie rolled her eyes and motioned him towards the living room. She was so mad a him…but he looked so sexy. He didn’t have on a shirt, and he was covered in sweat. It was yet another record breaking hot day in Orlando. Leslie didn’t think that she was ever going to see rain again as long as he lived. But anyway, Nick sat down and Leslie told him to wait just a minute so she could put some clothes on. She went up to her room and put on her bathing suit and a pair of shorts. She came back downstairs to see Nick looking at some pictures that she had on her shelf. She cleared her throat as he turned around. Leslie blushed as she noticed Nick looking her up and down. She grinned to herself...then stopped remembering about his girlfriend.

“So Nick, did you want something?” Leslie asked. Nick got up and made his way towards her. He put his hands on her shoulders and Leslie felt herself get chills. Chills in 100 degree weather….Leslie knew that there was something about him. She took a deep breath, as he looked her in the eyes. “Wait…what are you doing?” Nick leaned in close to her face. She wanted this so much, but she couldn’t get the image of the blonde smiling at her as she drove away from Nick’s house. She quickly moved away as Nick stood there confused.

“Leslie I thought this is what you wanted? I mean you were flirting w/ me last night…and you walking around in hardly anything showing off that sexy body in front of me. You told me yourself last night that you liked guys that weren’t shy to make a first move. Well that’s what I’m doing….I’m moving. So what’s wrong?”

“Nick I saw her. I saw that girl at your house last night. Yes I was flirting with you, but I didn’t know you had a girlfriend. And don’t give me that , oh it’s my cousin, bullshit. I saw how you kissed her. And if that’s how you kiss your cousin, well then that’s just gross. And I know that she spent the night there and…” Leslie was cut off as Nick grabbed her and kissed her. As he did….they both jumped at a loud clap of thunder outside. Leslie looked at Nick, then glanced outside. The sky was growing dark and Leslie saw a few drops of rain as the landed in the pool water. It was amazing…months and months of no rain, and now this. Leslie looked at Nick and saw him smiling. “I guess I should have kissed you a lot sooner.” Leslie smiled as the two went outside to stand in the rain. She looked down, and realized that they were holding hands. Leslie looked at Nick and almost lost herself in the crystal blue eyes. She could read what they were telling her, “ You broke up with her last night didn’t you?” Nick didn’t say a thing, but pulled Leslie out farther towards the pool. He reached down and unbuttoned her shorts. He slipped them off and she tossed them aside. He then took his off. “ Oh, I see you’re a boxers man.” Nick laughed and pulled Leslie close to him. He led her to the pool, both still getting drenched by the cold rain….
