My device was created for kids with lissencephaly, although it could be used for many different genetic diseases that affect the young. My device is a toy that it tactile and auditory as well as visual. It will be able to attach onto the wheelchairs so the children can play with it and not have to get out.
Each of the cylinders have different items inside, so that when they are spun it will makes different noises. The cylinders also have different textures, so that they can learn their envirnoment while playing. It is also very colorful, making it fun to look at as well as getting them to want to play with it. In my device I used tinker toys to build the frame, but the marketable product would be made of either durable plastic, or metal. However, I was unable to afford such materials for my device as of now. However, I plan on using the same fabrics of fur to stimulate the children with touch.Hopefully, this would be an affordable, easy way for kids with lissencephaly to explore their senses, learn, and have some fun.
