Welcome to the World of Rovers

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed with the things you didn't do than by the things you did ..."

--Mark Twain

This site centers around my fascination with one of the world's most unique and versitle vehicles--The Land Rover. Here you will find usefull and trivial information on my many adventures, and mis-adventures, of Land Rover ownership. But Land Rovers are not all that I am, they just helped me get where I am...in a rugged style that only Land Rover can provide. Elsewhere on this site you will be introduced to my many different interests and hobbies that are deeply rooted in my love of wildlife, travel and the natural world around us.

In this world of lazer fast, spick and span, professionally constructed, big money websites there has to be someone that will just say NO!! This page is big, but it is simple. You won't see flashy glitz and glitter here--just simple real life text and photos--(OK, there are a few cool GIF's) that tell my story. I can also assure you that nowhere on this page will you find a political, racial or hatred reference or pictures of me in a suit--this is a family website with a emphasis on learning and fun! However, don't try to learn how to spell here as I stink in that subject. Neither am I trying to make any money or win any awards with this page...it's just a hobby that I enjoy. I truthfully hope you enjoy it too.

But please be aware...this page is always under construction so please pardon my mess (if you catch me leaning on my shovel or eating doughnuts, jerk chicken, a smoked turkey leg, re-fried beans, a slab of rare steak, blueberry scones, sausage, haggis, potted meat or in a worst case scenario SPAM--please, do not hesitate to put me in my place). Also, as stated above, please pardon any spelling errors--eye hav nevr bein able toh spel veri gud--and furthermore, there are much greater things in life to be experiencing and fretting over other than simple spelling. If you have any problems decyphering any of my spelling just drop me an e-mail and I will de-code it for you-- Enjoy!

NUTTERS for ROVERS

"See the happy moron,

He doesn't give a damn.

I wish I were a moron.

My God! Perhaps I am!"

--author unknown.

The picture at the top of the page is of myself and my first Land Rover. It was a ragged old 1965 Series IIa 88" hardtop that I purchased in October of 1992-just a year or so before this picture was made. Over a period of six years I gradually restored it into the beautiful machine you will soon see in the pages of my photo gallery. I sold it in September of 1998 and I am now driving the 1966 Series IIa 109" ExMoD 2/4 Stretcher Battlefield Ambulance that is pictured below. I converted it into a fully self-contained overland camper and had ventured out there on some great journeys but unfortunatly I had to part with it a few years back in favor of completing my college degree. (but once you have a bit of 90wt in your blood you are forever infected with "Roveritis!"--so yes, there is another series Land Rover on the horizon for me...somewhere...someday.

The only way to pass any test is to take the test. It is inevitable.
