We went to Ft. Wm H. Harrison in January '73 for "Winter Survival Training" and to learn to ski. Had alot of fun learning to ski and still like to. We ran operations in the mountains of Montana, learned lots of skills. The post was run by the Montana National Guard.

Barracks and facilities at Fort were old.

We did some firearms training

The firing range at Ft Harrison. Note the rifles we are training with

Learning how to ski was loads of fun.

We took our training at a civilian ski lodge.

"LOOKOUT, NO BRAKES !!

The skies the Army issued are like wooden boards.

Then it was time to hit the woods. We spent a week in the snow.

Loaded down and moving out.

Everybody up and moving...

It was important to be dressed warm, lots of layers.

Gee, living it up makes you tired.

Way up in the Rockies.

Snow shoes are real handy in the deep snow.

Checking out some "possible Targets". This damn would give us some good ideas on how and were to place explosives.

Back at the Fort,we had a little party. Guess he didn't notice the stars on that jeep....
