The next day Brian and Elyse were hanging out at Brian's place.
"So, what do you want to do?" asked Elyse
"How about we go in my room and watch a movie," suggested Brian.
Elyse smiled. "Okay."
They went into Brian's room. Brian turned on the t.v. and ordered a PPV movie while Elyse slipped off her sandals and layed down on Brian's bed. When Brian had chosen the movie he layed down next to Elyse on the bed.
"What did you choose?" asked Elyse.
"Titanic. I've never seen the whole movie."
"Okay."
Brian got up and turned off the lights then layed back down beside Elyse. They watched the movie until the part where Jack and Rose were in the car. Brian leaned over and kissed Elyse and they practically reinacted the scene on the t.v.
When the credits started Brian got up to turn off the t.v. "I still haven't seen the whole movie," he said.
Elyse grinned. "Well, maybe we could watch it again sometime."
"Yeah."

Meanwhile, A.J. and Miki were at the beach having a good time. They had eaten lunch at a beach-side resteraunt and they were walking along the beach barefoot at the edge of the tide, hand in hand.
"The sun shines down, from places up above. Wiping away your frown, and giving you its love." Recited A.J.
"That was pretty," said Miki.
"Thanks. I just made it up on the spur of the moment."
"Have you ever written down your poetry?" asked Miki.
"Sometimes. Then I turn it into a song," said A.J.
"You should write them down more often."
"I will," said A.J.
They kept walking until they got to a secluded part of the beach, where nobody was in sight.
"It's so pretty here," said Miki, looking out into the ocean.
A.J. didn't respond, he was busy starting at Miki. When he didn't answer she looked over at him. Before she could say a word he swept her up in a kiss.
"I love you," said A.J.
"I love you too."

Part 10:
That Friday, Kate's 19th birthday, Brian, Nick, A.J., Kevin, Howie, Aaron, Elyse, and Miki met at Brian's house. They had told Kate to meet them there at 12:00. Brian and Nick with Elyse's help had planned a surprise party for Kate. They had decked Brian's house with balloons and streamers and A.J. and Miki had picked out a cake.
They chose Aaron to stand watch by the window, to tell them when Kate arrived.
"She's here!" yelled Aaron.
Brian turned off the CD player and Nick turned off the lights, and they all hid behind furniture or whatever was around to hid behind.
Kate knocked on the door. When nobody answered she twisted the doorknob and opened the door. She walked in the room and looked around. "Hello?"
"SURPRISE!" yelled everyone, jumping out of their hiding spots. Nick turned on the lights.
"Happy Birthday!" said Nick, giving Kate a hug.
"Wow! This is great. Thanks so much," said Kate.
They gave Kate her presents and sat around her as she opened them up. After that they cut the cake and took their plates out back to sit in the nice weather.
Later that day, after everyone had left Brian's house, and Nick had dropped Aaron off at home, Nick took Kate to see a movie.
"What movie to you want to see?" asked Nick when they got to the movie theatre.
"How about Force's of Nature," suggested Kate.
"That sounds good."
Nick bought the tickets and they went in and sat down to watch the movie. In the middle of the movie, Nick got up enough courage to put his arm around Kate. When he did, she looked up at him and smiled. Nick had decided that he really did like Kate, more than just a friend.
When the movie was over, Nick and Kate got up and walked out of the theatre. Nick and Kate joined hands and walked out to Nick's car. Nick drove to the hotel Kate was staying in. When they got there Nick walked her up to her room.
"We need to talk," said Nick.
"Come inside first," said Kate. She unlocked the door to her room and they went in. They sat down on the queen size bed.
"Kate... I really like you," said Nick.
Kate smiled and almost blushed. "I... I like you too Nick."
"We've been friends for a long time, and I never realized how beautiful you are until you came a few days ago. I know that you live in North Carolina and I'm going to be on tour... but will you go out with me?"
Kate was in heaven. "Of course I will Nick." She gave him a big hug.

Brian, Nick, Elyse and Kate met the next day to go to the mall. Nick hadn't told anybody about him and Kate getting together yet. When they got out of the car at the mall and started walking inside, Nick and Kate joined hands. Brian noticed and said, "So, you two finnaly got together?"
Nick smiled, "Yeah."
"I knew you two would," said Brian. "Aren't they a cute couple?" he said turning to Elyse.
"Yep, they sure are," said Elyse.
"Okay, okay, we get the point," said Nick.
When they went through the revolving door into the mall they were enveloped into a large crowd of people standing in a long line that stretched from the door to somewhere they couldn't see.
"Whats going on?" asked Kate.
"I don't know," said Nick.
"There's probably someone famous here signing autographs or something," said Brian. "Lets see who it is."
Brian led the way around the line so they could get a better view of what was at the front of the line. He stopped at a sign that read, 'N Sync'
"It's N Sync," said Brian.
"Great," said Nick in a sarcastic tone.
"Do you not like them?" Kate asked Nick.
"Well, its not that..." started Nick.
"Nick kinda had a run in with Justin the last time we met," interupted Brian.
"Oh?" said Kate.
"At that charity concert for the tornado victims that we performed at N Sync was there performing too. Justin's girlfriend, Samantha, was there and she was hanging out backstage with all of us. When Justin and the guys went onstage she..."
"Kissed him." interuped Brian again.
"Then Justin came backstage to get something and he saw us, I mean her, kissing me, and he got pissed off and started yelling at her and me," explained Nick.
"Oh, I see. What happened between them?" asked Kate.
"Well, from what I heard, they made up and got back together, but they broke up later. And I'm sure I'm the last person he wants to see right now."
"Their going to be tied up with the fans for a while, and when their done signing autographs they won't be able to shop so I don't think you have anything to worry about," said Brian.
"Lets look around for a while," said Elyse.
"Yeah," agreed Kate.
Nick and Brian saw a sports apparal store and insisted they go in to "just look around" so Elyse and Kate followed. They looked around and picked out some things. Nick and Kate got matching t-shirts and Brian bought Elyse a shirt.
They left the sports store and walked around for a while. Kate wanted to find a book, so they went in Waldons book store. After looking around for a minute Kate brought a book to Nick.
"I found it," she said.
Nick looked at the cover. "The Heart and Soul of Nick Carter. Why would you want that?" he teased.
"Well, I heard there's some juicy secrets in there about you when you were a kid," said Kate grinning.
"Aw man."
Kate laughed. "Don't worry, I wont tell anyone."
Kate bought the book and they looked at a few more shops in the mall.
"I'm starving," said Nick.
"Me too," said Brian.
"Lets go to the Hard Rock Cafe," suggested Elyse.
"Okay, sound good to me," said Brian.
They made their way through the mall to the parking lot and drove to the Hard Rock Cafe.
They went in and were seated in a booth in the back. When they were waiting for their food to arive they noticed a big group of people come in and sit down a booths down.
Nick noticed Justin and the guys right away, along with a couple of body guards. "Great, look who just came in," he said.
Brian and Elyse turned around and looked. "What a coincidence," said Brian.
Justin noticed Brian, Nick, Elyse, and Kate looking his way. He made a face and turned away. There were three girls sitting with them, two blonds and a brunette.
JC and Joey came over to the table where Brian, Nick, Kate and Elyse were.
"Hey, how you doing?" asked JC
"Great. Nice to see you," said Brian.
"Who are these two lovely ladies?" asked JC, gesturing towards Kate and Elyse.
"This is Elyse, my girlfriend, and Kate, Nick's girlfriend," said Brian.
"Nice to meet you," said JC, shaking their hands.
"Who are those girls you're with?" asked Brian.
"The one with the long brown hair is Lauren, my girlfriend. The one with the Short blond hair is Rita, JC's girlfriend, and the one sitting next to Chris is Tracy," explained Joey.
"Why don't you come over to the table and I'll introduce you to them," said JC.
"No, thats okay, I don't think Justin wants to see me right now," said Nick.
"Are you still thinking about the thing with Samantha?" asked JC.
"Yeah," said Nick.
"Look, I'm sure Justin has forgotten about that. It wasn't your fault anyway," said JC.
"Yeah, don't worry about it," said Joey.
"Alright," said Nick, giving in.
Brian, Nick, Elyse and Kate followed JC and Joey over to the table where the others were sitting.
"Look who we found," said Joey.
"Guys this is Rita, Lauren, and Tracy. This is Brian, Nick, Elyse and Kate," said JC, introducing everybody. Everyone said Hi and shook hands. Justin and Nick didn't say anything to each other, they were both still a little bit mad at each other.
The waitress brought the guys food, so Brian, Nick, Elyse and Kate said bye, and went to their table after promising to talk to them later.

Part 12:
After everyone was finnished eating Brian, Nick, Elyse, Kate, Jc, Justin, Chris, Joey, Lance, Rita, Lauren and Tracy all met at the arcade for a few rounds of games.
"What should we do first?" asked Brian.
"Lets have an air hockey tournament," suggested Justin, always ready for a challenge.
"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea," said Chris.
The first game was Nick and Brian. Nick won by one point. After them Elyse and Kate went. Kate won by 2 points. The third game was Rita and Jc. Jc went easy on her so she won easy. Then Justin and Lance went and Justin won by 1 point. Chris and Tracy went and Chris won. Then the last game was Lauren and Joey and Joey won.
The semi-finals were Kate and Rita, Chris and Justin, and Nick and Joey. Kate, Justin and Nick were the winners.
Then Nick and Kate played a game. Kate got the first point, then Nick got two points. At the end Nick won, leaving him and Justin to play for the finals.
"This is going to be a good game," said Jc.
The whole game they stayed tied. Then at the end Justin got one more point and won. Nick shook Justin's hand. "Good game."
"Thanks, you did pretty good yourself," said Justin. "I guess they made up," said Brian to Jc.
"Yeah, I guess so," said Jc.
Everyone split up to play some games. Nick and Brian went right over to the Basketball games to "shoot some rock," as Brian said.
Elyse was at the Mrs. Pacman game when Justin came over and joined her. "Hi."
Elyse looked up and saw the prettiest blue eyes. "Hi. You're Justin right?"
"Yeah, thats me."
"You know what," said Elyse.
"What?" asked Justin.
"I've been kinda unfair about judging you guys."
"How?"
"Well, when I first heard you I thought you were just some copy-cat group so I automatically didn't like you guys. But now that I've gotten to meet you guys you seem really nice."
"Oh, I see."
Justin and Elyse talked while Elyse finnished her game.
"Damn, she's pretty," thought Justin. "Do you want to play a game of airhockey?"
"Sure," said Elyse. They went over to the airhockey table and Justin put in two quarters. They ended up tying. Nobody else was in sight, they were all on the other side of the room blocked by a row of video games. Elyse bent down to tie her shoe, when she stood up Justin met her with a kiss. Before she had a chance to pull away she heard Brian's voice. "Elyse?"
Elyse looked over at Brian. "Brian..."
"No." Brian turned around and walked out the door.
"Brian wait." Elyse started to go after Brian. Nick stopped her.
"Elyse, how could you do that to Brian? He loves you with all his heart."
"Nick, I didn't... it was Justin."
Nick left Elyse and went over to Justin.
"Why the hell did you do that?" asked Nick.
"What are you talking about?" asked Justin.
"You know exactly what I mean. Elyse is Brian's girlfriend."
"I didn't know," said Justin.
"How could you not know that?" asked Nick almost yelling at the top of his lungs.
"I..."
"Brian loves Elyse, and seeing you two kiss really hurt him."
"Look, I'm really sorry," said Justin.
"Don't appologize to me, tell Brian."
Justin left and followed Brian outside.
Justin found Brian sitting outside with his head on his knees. He went and sat next to him. "Brian."
Brian looked up and saw Justin sitting next to him. "What the fuck do you want?"
"Look, I'm really sorry..."
"I love Elyse, she means the world to me... I couldn't live without her. I don't think you've ever had the same feelings for a girl before."
"Your probably right. I didn't know..."
"It better not happen again," said Brian.
"Believe me it won't," said Justin. He stood up and held his hand out to Brian. "Friends?"
Brian took his hand and he pulled him to his feet. "Yeah."
They walked back to the arcade where everyone was waiting. When Elyse saw Brian she ran up to him and hugged him. "Brian, It wasn't..."
"Don't worry about it, Justin explained it," said Brian.
Elyse kissed Brian. "I love you."
"I love you too," said Brian.

Jc pulled Justin aside. "What happened?"
"I apologized and we made up," said Justin.
"I can't believe you did that man."
"I swear I didn't know," said Justin.
"Whatever. Look we need to go," said Jc.
They all said bye and went on their seperate ways.

Later that night Brian and Elyse were at Brian's place. Brian had his guitar and was making up songs for Elyse.
"So... that thing between you and Justin... it was all him?" asked Brian cautiously.
"It was all him. There's nothing going on between us." Elyse took Brian's hand. "Brian, I love you. You mean so much to me... I would never do anything to loose you. You know that right?"
"I know that. I just... when I saw you and Justin... I don't know. I thought I would loose you, and I couldn't live with that."
Brian leaned in and kissed Elyse. "I love you."
"I love you too," said Elyse.
With that Brian picked up his guitar and started playing. "There are people who say what you wanna hear, even on a rainy day they'll tell you the sky is clear. When you really really love someone am I right when I say that you want them near, and how do you know that stars can fall from above. Always forever, oh things she said, never say never, the simple lies she fed, I will never leave you, all the love I thought she had. But can you blame me no, cause thats what she said."
